  1. I go to Billingsgate fairly often to buy fish. Billingsgate has a lot of small traders/ fishmongers all gathered under one roof. Football is a favourite topic of conversation with many of the porters and I once had a decent conversation about the Saints with a Charlton fan who works there. About 18 months ago a stall from Selsey began to be festooned by blue scarves and flags. A special Cup Final 2008 flag took pride of place in the centre of the stall. They always seemed to have a good selection of skate wings. Needless to say no matter how cheap their wares I never bought anything from that stall. I went to Billingsgate this morning and the stall from Selsey had no Pompey flags or scarves. Not a single one. Rumour has it the stallholders now support Millwall!! I nearly PMSL !!!
  2. I was walking in a street in Hong Kong this time last year. Over there you get used to seeing the locals wear Man U / Liverpool / Arsenal / Chelsea shirts but I was astounded to see a Hong Kong native walk past me wearing a skate shirt with the name Campbell on the back. He was the biggest and fattest Hong Kong person I saw. I did call him a skate bastard as I walked past him but it was under my breath and there was no chance of him hearing. I am not that brave!!
  3. No - it was not that early here in Thailand !! :-) :-) :-)
  4. I would suggest that Pardew's biggest problem now is deciding on his best team. Injuries will obviously disrupt his plans but I think he now needs to decide on his best team and stick to it. The bigger the squad, the more difficult it will be for him to decide on his bet team. Who for example should play in midfield?? Hammond, Morgan, Lallanna & James look good. But how about Mellis, Gillett, Holmes , Mills , Thomson , Wootton and Gobern ?? Boyle, McLaggon and Pulis are also lurking in the background. Pardew needs to be able to distinguisah the wood from the trees .... and if that means thinning the squad and reducing the number of trees then sobeit.
  5. This must qualify as one of the most hypocritical statements from perhaps the biggest hypocrite on this board. Last week I was a pathetic little individual according to you. This week I am a passenger. What will I be next week Mr Hypocrite?? You either have a serious problem remembering what you write or you are the world's biggest hypocrite. Which is it ??
  6. LOL You talk about cyber bullying but you are the one who bullies. I am the passenger now. Last week I was just pathetic. I wonder what I will be next week. I just think you are a sick individual and I feel sorry for you.
  7. Very well put Wes. I read Nineteen's post and thought here we go again. No alternative to the youth option blah blah blah. Crowds of 17,000 in the third tier of English football are poor blah blah blah. I wonder if he will ever realise that just because he keeps on saying the same things it doesn't make them any more correct than when he spouted them the first time.
  8. How about getting Surman back - on loan to start off with and then buy him back permanently?? So far he has made 1 substitute appearance for Wolves in the League and made 1 appearance in the CC Cup. His Premiership season has lasted 25 mins so far and the only way that he is likely to get injured this season is if he finds a splinter on the Wolves's substitute bench. Rumour had it he didn't want to leave in the first place. Wouldn't it be great if he was prepared to "do a Kelvin" and forego Premiership wages and a life on the subs bench for matches with the team that he and his family have always supported??
  9. If only,if only ..... Crouch appointed Pearson Lowe appointed Gray and Wigley and Sturrock and Rednapp and Poortvleit and Wotte. If only Lowe had made his managerial appointments in a Croucesque fashion we may not now be in the third tier of English football.
  10. "one and only" ?? I suppose you mean Nineteen Canteen. How about Sundance Beast? Flashman at the Charge loved Lowe. The Fourth Bear did as well. I even think that Speculator was another Lowe luvvie. One and only?? There are loads of them!!
  11. Funny. I was also thinking of Goebbels when reading the latest guff from Nineteen Canteen. That man has some serious problems.
  12. Excellent post!!
  13. Interesting. I agree with the view about our inglorious and tiresome recent history but .... I do think that the the anti Rupert demonstrations played their part in the Barclays decision making. The demonstrations were pooh poohed by the Lowe apologists on here and were ignored by Lowe and co. But a big difference between our position & Pompey's was that a percentage of the Pompey crowd were not demonstrating against the owner. Barclays could see how the fans felt . The writing would be on the wall for any business if a large percentage of a business's "customers" were unhappy with the direction the business was taking. This has not been the case at Pompey.
  14. I presume thats your golf ball that you are referring to.
  15. Thats the best thing to do with Talksport.
  16. I agree with Hypo. Towards the end of last season, Charlton started to put together a decent run. It was almost as if they had written off that season and decided to concentrate on getting their team togehter for this season. They beat us 3-2 at the beginning of April at SMS and looked a pretty good team. They definitly had momentum at the end of last season and have built from there. The fact that we are still looking for signings & have made 3 signings in the last 2 weeks shows how settled we are. Our acquisitions may well be better than their predecessors - but it will take time for them to be absorbed into the team. It will all take time ... but we are still in August. Lets be patient.
  17. I still feel genuine sorrow and concern for you. Get well soon.
  18. But a couple of months ago you told us about your issues !! You wrote about how sometimes you even wondered about the point of going on with life. I cannot find the post (history on this site seems to be limited to 500 posts and at your current rate of posting that is only 6 weeks ago) otherwise I would quote it. I felt genuine sorrow and concern for you. There are not enough saints fans out in this world and although at times I do wonder about your allegiance to Southampton, we need all fans to be in good health - mental and physical. Your recent change of avatar brought home the turmoil in your mind. You clearly enjoy taking the opposite view to the majority - which I take as a sign of your illness. As I said earlier this week , your postings on this site are a win / win if you find your postings help your personal issues as they certainly help to liven up this site. So , tell me. What is Justin Fashanu up to these days?? ;-)
  19. In the strange world that Numpty inhabits, MLT is an egoist. But Lowe isn't.
  20. It wasn't you that I thought was Rupert's bum chum. It was Sundance Beast :-) :-)
  21. But he stayed at the same club for such a long time that surely by your reckoning Ted was a failure. After all lack of ambition was a crime for MLT in your eyes.
  22. One very sad individual.
  23. What do MLT, Lawrie Mac and Leon Crouch all have in common??? They have all been targets for our mate Numpty Canteen. What amazes me is how he has missed the obvious target for his bile - Ted Bates. I mean staying at the club all those years - tsk he had no ambition. Getting us into the First division - tsk if he was any good he would have been England manager. Getting us into Europe - tsk he never got us into the European cup. No trophies won - tsk even Lawrie Mac could win the FA Cup so it must have been easy in those days. He was given an MBE - tsk at least it wasn't a knighthood. I am amazed that Numpty hasn't started on him yet. Ted is wide open for a Numpty character assassination.... and just think. If Numpty really wanted more attention he could always chain himself to the Ted Bates statue!! I hope he gets better soon!!
  24. I wonder if the bookies will pay out early?? You never know Pompey may be so far adrift by February, the bookies may pay out early!!
