The wages can be paid this week. The Pompey share of the Sunderland FA cup gate was invested on the Saturday night lottery .... and came up lucky. Enough was won to pay the January wages. They are now looking for volunteers to scratch the panels off the 25,000 lottery scratchcards that they plan to buy next week.

The FA do not take one third. They take 10%. The gate is shared after deducting all the costs - police, stewards, VAT etc etc. So I think,as the OP states, we definitely made enough yesterday to pay for Lee B.

It is strange how the transfer embargo is always about to be lifted at the same time as demonstrations / protests start. Anyone would think that the"good news" is leaked out solely to deflect criticism from the board!!

He was a bit dodgy in the first half. Most of Ipswich's chances were created from his side. I thought however he was excellent in the second half. He went forward well and was a rock in defence. I hope he stays in the team for the Brentford game. I am an admirer of Harding and think he is the better bet at left back. But he deserves a rest and AP should keep Mills in the team for the next few matches. A bit of competition for the left back slot will do us no harm.

Don't worry. League One will soon be a dream for the Skates. After the proverbial hits the fan in relation to the tax affairs of the chairman, chief exec and manager and the club's accounts have been forensically investigated they will be fortunate to still be members of the Football League.

Wasn't it Grant Thornton who were called in to do the forensic accounting on our accounts when we were peddling the line that it was the parent company and not the football club who were in administration ?? Clearly Grant Thornton are the experts on this sort of ting at football clubs.

Why was the contact for only 18 months if Ward wanted to come to us???? Nowadays it seems that most contacts are for at least 3 years (Seaborne's is for 3 and a half). A contract for just 18 months would indicate a lack of commitment on Ward's part.

The funniest thing was when one skate announced that he was doing it for a free ticket because it is normally impossible to get tickets for their games. I never realised that all their games were automatic sell outs. I thought that those empty seats had not been sold. Clearly someone is going round, buying up al the tickets and then not bothering to distribute them!!

No way will we be playing them next season .... unless we get relegated and I do not think that is likely. They are going to be relegated this season as they are clearly not good enough for the Premiership. Their ex Chairman, chief executive and ex manager will all end up in prison for tax evasion & these misdemeanours will cause the Football league to sling them out into the Blue Square before they are reinstated to Division 2 on appeal. It happened before to Swindon. I do not think it is unlikely to happen again. Consider the punishment meted out to Luton for offenses nowhere as serious as those that Mad and Rich, Storrie teller and Saggychops are all facing. They are going down .... and I do not just mean Saggy and his chums.

No they didn't pay more for winning the FA Cup. They promised to pay more but never came up with the cash. Ask Sol about his win bonus for the FA Cup.
