It's not. He's not good enough, never has been, never will be. The "very good" jibe that gets said is just hysterical, lazy nonsense. He goes unnoticed because he's a nice guy, tries hard and appears to be a good team mate. None of that makes him a competent defender. Just look at him last week getting in so tight to Hazard that he knocks him 10ft in the air.
Luckily I was fully expecting this reaction for having a critical opinion of Maya ****ing Yoshida.
