  1. We will never off load Austin, no one will pay his wages. We are stuck wuth him-and for a long time. Hope I am wrong. Clubs now realise he is no longer fit for purpose. Sad but true.
  2. Can anyone believe that Blackburn or Stoke (or anyone else) will pay him £60k a week? Even if we manage to get rid of him on loan we will have to pay a whack of his wages. China is our best hope. Come on Gao, do something useful
  3. Just the sort of thing that was written about Mane
  4. Why do posters get annoyed, even angry and hostile toward the Club, if there are no signings? A slimming down of squad and wages is known to be long overdue and posters here have been asking for it for a long time. At last we're getting it. Of course a signing would be welcome but only if exactly what the new management wants, not the random jokers of recent windows. We now have a coach and a philosophy the players are buying into--11th this season, top half next.
  5. Who says he is going? If I was him I would stay , where else will he get £60k a week guaranteed for a couple of years? No one will pay that, so we are stuck while he gets very rich. hope I am wrong

    Che Adams

Birmingham broke? is that anyuthing to do with 'Arry' buying eleven players and then getting the sack?
  7. Charlie has nothing more to offer, his day is done. We need a different type with an appetite and a future and if we can't get one we are still better off without Charlie hanging around
  8. Don't panic! We needed to reduce the squad and the wage bill before we build up. And the build up doesn't need to be until the summer. Even with no purchase we will be fitter and stronger and more together than when the window opened and every academy type will be filled with new incentive and hope. We were drifting as a club now we have direction and purpose
  9. According to a great many posters on this forum we had a very big right back issue while Cedric was here.
  10. Agree entirely. We have wanted academy players to have a chance and they wont get the chance while 'dead wood' blocks the way. Staplewood must be buzzing with new optimism, this all adds to the feel good factor which has been missing
  11. And no wonder if he chooses not to go
  12. I respect the manager and his policy is clearly to slim the squad and cut the wage bill before he adds more to the squad. Makes sense to me! He is convinced this team is going to avoid relegation and will be the base for next season with his choice of newcomers in the summer for pre-season. Great!
  13. Exactly one year ago we sold VVD for £75million which the pundits now call a 'snip' of a bargain for LlIVERPOOL
  14. Why has all the abuse and hostility directed at Cedric on this forum suddenly changed to 'we will miss him' 'shouldn't let him go' 'we've got no cover' 'Cedrics the best back we've got' and so on. We don't really learn much on thhis foorum, just a load of opinions which cancel each other out.
  15. There is nothing to say he would go. A sick person dislikes changer and fears the challenge of something new, easier to sit on what you've got.

    Yoshida

He wont, he is a different type entirely. Also he had success in the world cup in the summer and didn't make a fuss when Hughes preferred Hoedt for weeks on end
  17. I am quite happy to sign no one and let Ralph mould this squad to his style, he is already doing that as we can all see. Then in the longer summer break do the big sort out and have the right set for pre-season. Makes sense! I didn't expect to say that a month ago.
  18. That's a matter of opinion, as was the abuse poured on Mane when he was here. That's when I became convinced there are a load of jealous people from down the road on this site.
  19. Ralph needs workers and pressers to build team spirit
  20. Agreed, I am absolutely sick of reading attacks on our own players from our own 'fans'. I come on this site hoping to get some news of a new signing and all I get is criticism of the present players and posters attacking each other. Its a bit sad.

    Cortese

This is so true. The money Cortese spent increased the value of the club and Kat did very well out of it. The money Reed and Ross have spent has come close to ruining us. Cortese was the business man, Poch would have been the football man and we would be heading for the Champions Lg and our owners would be getting richer not poorer, but NC was moved out and lots of nut cases on this forum rejoiced.
  22. e This is a bit horrible, we have the wierdest 'supporters' I agree that Reed messed up big time. In fact he sold every player of worth and asset stripped the club. But to attack the remnant as rubbish helps no one and Long has had good spells under managers who knew how to use him and has had a terrific 100% workrate with the managers who didn't know how to use him. No one works harder and he deserves credit for that and gratitude from fans not hostility
  23. The way i read the situation Ralph would probably be happy to leave new buys until the summer and start pre-season with the squad he wants. That may be better then upsetting the balance he is creating. The squad is aready overloaded. if he identifies the right person I expect he would get him but we dont want a repeat of previous window madness
  24. If Ralph gets the best out of Lemina we will have a top player but more likely the new style will be too much for him, he is too casual for high pressing style. JWP may come to his peak, he is a harder worker and more relaible. Either way the midfield is going to be better than it was
  25. Yes the big clubs will come sniffing but not yet and this guy wants to build a team playing his style, that will take a while and when he has done it he may want to stay--like Poch at Spurs -- and enjoy the result, hope so. My feeling is that he is not the type who wants enndless money thrown to buy top players (Mourino type) he likes moulding what he's got and improving them, therefore if the club hasn't got 100million every summer, he may not be too bothered--unlike Koeman
