  1. yea that's true, JWP did nothing
  2. Yes it does seem the ambition and competence that Marcus and NC brought to lift us, has gone.
  3. How long is Hughes contract for? The owners have paid out for the Clown's sacking, they won't want to pay out again so soon. And if they do, then we have Fat Sam on his annual rescue act. Either way, bit worrying.
  4. Mark Hughes may not excite fans and I have never liked him as player or in his managerial career but several players are playing better under him than before--Redmond, Hoj, Bertrand, lemina and that gives me hope for the team---but we need Yoshi, what has he got against him?
  5. Biggest mystery to me is the absence of Yoshida when the back line is under performing. Apart from that puzzle, the team looks more settled and more organised than last year, the goalkeeper is a big plus on this time last year, Ings is pleasant surprise so far, the attacking moves are faster. I see signs of hope that it will be much better than last year. We've been freakishly unlucky with the two late goals costing us points after much improved displays. Nil desperandum
  6. It would be no surprise if that were the case.
  7. Or enjoys the easy money
  8. Not Austin he is a tired old man with zero mobility who should not be keeping out a young man with high mobility, give Sam a go!
  9. All this and only one injnury on the pitch mentioned. I've been a fan since the war and had no clue it was so dangerous
  10. Worst injury to a player I saw was at the Dell. the Arsenal goalkeeper Wilson challenged Hugh Fisher and the leg break could be heard where we sat, sickening, he was out for months. One of our most under rated players, on the bench for the Cup Final
  11. Make that a third of the points needed
  12. Good thing is we have cover for injury, loss of form. It is progress to have competition for places
  13. Bertrand for penalties in future please.
  14. Don't be so sure about Huddersfield...good manager, great community support and high spirit makes up for a lot when the pressure is on...they will escape IMO
  15. We have had nothing to get excited about for two feeble seasons. How many home goals have we scored under Puel and the Clown, must be near the lowest in the whole league
  16. The back line is struggling, where is Yoshi, one of the World Cup's best defenders?
  17. I am another who feels ashamed of the 'support'. The way Mane was treated still angers me and Wanyama had hate 'fans' as well. Is it racism, or are they from down the road? Criticism is one thing, but this hostility to our own players embarrasses me, it is not what i call support. At present JWP, Bertrand and Redman seem to get the treatment. What good does that do any of them? And then after we have destroyed them we call them disloyal for leaving. Worst case was the abuse poured on NC
  18. My view exactly, well said, I am looking forward to the season
  19. Sounds the sort of thing Mourino would say about his owm players, don't want ouir manager to go down that line
  20. I was happily surprised, first time touches speeded things up, we haven't had that since Sadio left
  21. Dellman

    Redmond

Totally agree, he worried the defence and created openings
  22. He completes a good window, best for ages. We kept all the players we wanted to keep, first time for years. We made three good signings early so they got full pre season, just what we've been asking for and now we've strengthened where we were weakest at the last minute. What more does anyone expect? There should be a round of applause for Les and co. great effort
  23. Spot on
  24. Forget the Vatican, our Saints come from St Mary's the mother church of Southampton as I am sure you know
  25. Do you want our club to have a set of players not good enough for international events? Daft! I want them all to be good enough and to do well, like Yoshida
