And who will be willing to pay the wage bill?
-
I am not sure what could have been done. My question is: why have the Saints been raided from top to bottom and lost every top performer. Other clubs lose one or two, even Arsenal (Sanchez) ManU (Ronaldo) Liverpool (Sterling) couldn't keep every one. But has any team ever been raped the way we have?
-
Wages will actually dictate several staying because no one will pay such wages esp Boufal, Fraser, Lemina, Carillo, Austin and most of the others who sit on the bench. We're stymied and they are not interested, they just laugh all the way to the bank. That's what football has become, outside the top flight. I shall drop my season tkt after 40 years, not just because we are relegated but because football lives in a parallel universe, and a very sick one.

We are not exactly fighting relegation, it is just happening to us. Has the Board noticed? I wish we were fighting, the Le Tiss team escaped year after year because they had terrific spirit

If true and Hughes has tried to make a stand, I am suddenly all for Hughes who is not my favourite football person but will suddenly become so if he can sort out players taking big money under false pretences
-
Yes, it is a very sad feeling for a fan but I feel something similar. Is it really the players fault or have they been so badly managed that they have no spirit and no personality and no appeal. I would keep Yoshida and JWP and build the club around them and also round PEH if he is willing to stay.

What has Kat done to us?
-
Lemina could be a great player, so could Boufal. Is there something wrong with them or with the club that we have failed to bring the best out of them?

I am slow to join the 'Reed Out' fans. I am utterly disappointed by the collapse of the club since Koeman left and recognise the abysmal failure of recruiting. When nearly £100million has been spent on players who are left on the bench it is self evoident there have been big expensive failures. But if Reed goes who is left who has any knowledge of English football? Certainly not the Chinese owners or the Canadian iceman. Since we slated Wanyama and Mane when they were with us and called for the dismissal of Puel, I have become very careful about what I wish for.
-
The disruption will spill into next season because the only people with power to change the boardroom leadership are the Chinese owners who dont speak English or know anything about English football. Why on arth did they buy the club.....does anyone know?
-
If Saints are not 'in your blood' you are free to go and support someone else, sooner the better. When you are born in so'ton and have followed them all your life (in my case since the war) there is a strong feeling it is 'in the blood'. I couldn't change to anyone else, what ever happened
-
Yes, I agree but do the Chinese owners have the first clue about replacements? Markus was lucky NC had the contacts, who will advise Gao?
-
Has he any football connection, if not, get on with the game

Why JWP? I am hoping the new Southampton will be built round a Southampton man with JWP captain. And why Hojbjerg? He is the sort of steady workman we need in the Championship. The guys who promise a lot and deliver a little can go, but who will want tham and who will pay their wages, we could be stuck with a load of high paid showmen who wont enjoy the Championship.

(If we go down) what will you miss about the Premierleague?

This 100% -
Nearly £100m worth of 'Talent' not on the pitch yesterday

My worry is that we will have a job to sell them, will anyone pay them the wages we are paying? they can sit on the bench and laugh all the way to the bank. Football has produced a sick system -
Ryan Bertrand - not fit to be captain, a disgrace

This is what we have been doing with one player after asnother---and look where we are -
Ryan Bertrand - not fit to be captain, a disgrace

There's plenty of things to moan about in the running of the club but no sense in making Bertrand a scapegoat -
He wont be a great miss on this season's form. Just confirms that present players are not fighting this season but preparing for next.

How long is Carillo's contract? On the wages we pay who ever will buy him? We're lumbered
-
Does he have the knowledge or the contacts in English football? And why did he buy us anyway?
