I never liked him as a Man U player--good but horrible--and I was disappointed in him with us, his best days were truly over. When he became a manager, I always laughed when he got the sack, never thought he would come to us. The weird thing is, I now like him and hope he gets the job. The way he changed things round, picked a settled side and got the wasters under control speaks well for ther future, I hope.

Yes, you've got, that's it
-
I can't understand the hostile attitude to Bertrand, probably the best player we've got left. Our 'supporters' will see him off like they did Mane and Wanyama. In a bad season he was one of the few who was consistent, obviously the overall team failure has cost him. I wouldn't blame him for leaving but I would regret it.
-
No. But he's happy to take another pay day
-
Are you the guy who wanted to pay the taxi for Mane to go anywhere and for Wanyama to go as far away as possible? It's time fans saw the value in what we have instead of chasing them away. We don't seem to like success here eg Cortese. Les has delivered more good seasons than bad, be careful what you wish for

Any option other than Hughes would be inviting trouble--and we've had enough of that. Hughes has more Premier League experience than anyone available, he has proved his worth in difficult circumstances, the players have responded far more than seemed likely, we have seen good football in the last few matches, better than the last two years. Mad to look elsewhere, let him get on with it, and soon!
-
He was out of his depth and an active Board would have put him out of his (and our) misery much earlier but he was not as bad as Branfoot who introduced ugly football and he was not as bad as Saggy Arry who was fraudulent
-
Couldn't disagree more. Yoshida is first on my sheet probably captain next season, Stephens and Hoedt are good players who will get better in a more settled club and Redmond is criticised because he attacks with speed and imagination in a team which doesn't, next season he is due a blinder
-
Our centre backs are much criticised but they did brilliantly today, not many teams have heldm City thhis season for 95 minutes. Give credit where it is due. thought Yoshida was a giant today, he doesn't get the praise he deserves. My MoM and second for the season, behind the goaly
-
Not sad to see him go? this is what this forum said about Wanyama and Mane
-
There is no other remaining game...give praise where it is due..end the season with honour all round...and they did it without any Saints players, if it was Liverpool that would be different
-
They are the best I've ever seen in England, they've broken every record and they play as if it is still the Beautifal Game. So lets welcome them properly before we deal with them

Great Escapes - past and present ... is this the best ?

Wasn't that Harry's last match in charge, or am I mistaken? -
Ten years ago we were in a mess. The last few years have been the best for me and Les was the overseer, so we owe him a lot. Of course he didn't gert everything right -no one does- the new long contract for FF and the record fee for Carillo are obvious examples, as is the bad joke of Pellegrino but overall he has presided over financial stability (new to us) Premier League football (unlikely when he came) and a couple of Wembley days. Why is he slagged off and abused, just like Mane was and Wanyama--and anyone who does really well for us. Is this site run by guys down the road/
-
I expect they have learnt a lot. Do you really expect them to publicly announce the Board has been bad and the players have been very bad and the management even worse? Who in any walk of life does that as a PR exercise?
-
Stoke made some useless signings last summer (according to Butland) Was that the work of Hughes? If so, oh dear.
-
Adams needs a rest, and the other batsmen need a rest from him---two and a half hours for 17 after six and a half hours for 87. The whole team will die of boredom watching him set the pace. He's a nice guy and been a good servant but we've had too much of this good thing. We need a bit of joy in the team and I can't see who it is coming from
-
Vince leads like he bats, careless and unreliable, no backbone or grit. New leadership please--God only knows who--and a bit of reilience. do any of them care?
-
Like Mane and Wanyama before him he has been vilified by 'fans' on this site. We will miss him, why do we treat our own so badly, is it because they are 'foreigners'?
-
Agree, that is a fact but my point is that sort of cricket is enough to turn any spectator off for ever. And that is why the old county game is on the way out and these new slog arounds are taking over
-
Did Adams' six and a half hours empty the ground? he might hang around but the paying public wouldn't
-
Can anyone explain to me why Adams batted six and a half hours to the end of the third day for 87. What rationale can there possibly be in a shortened amtch for that rate of scoring?
-
Bertrand gets a lot of stick, like Mane Wanyama and Pele before him, but when he has been sold to a top club the same people will moan about how much we miss him. thought he did a great job y'day
-
He seems a thoughtful guy, may have a lot to say. there's more to life than just football matches
-
Have you just woken up?
