  1. A lot of talk about sacking the manager, I understand the feeling, but very little talk about who there is to take his place. who should it be? Saying 'anyone is better then him' is not an answer.
  2. Not sure at this stage of the transfer window it would save us, Its goinf to be Mopo that has been made clear, daft but clear. We.re stuch and there is no talisman to rally round, we've sold them all. Sad sad story of mismanagement at all levels
  3. Nicola was unpopular with folk who had their feet under the table at the club. He decided a clean sweep was necessary to end the factions arguing, that made enemies and loads on this forum ridiculed him (dwarf and all that). In fact ever since he left the winning ambition that brought Poch to us has drained away with all the ambitious players. Now we have the left overs. But have his critics, like Mane's critics, learnt anything? NC will never come back here, but we need someone like him, capable of taking control and overseeing another clearout. Don't know why real fans didn't love him. OK he had a big ego, thank God for that, let's have another one
  4. Yoshida for me, he fills whatever gap the manager wants filled and always gives 100% great club man and there aren't many of those in the current shower. He will be captain in the championship, and a good one.
  5. I agree, we basically need a Pele and a Mane, the irony is that when we had them people on this forum mocked and ridiculed them and were happy to see them go.
  6. MP looks likke a dreadful appointment, but who would be better? Another sacked failure like Hughes? And maybe it is the players who got rid of the first MP by under performing think they can do the same again. There is something sick in the club and sacking the manager may not be the answer.Absentee owners doesn't help
  7. We may need a leader, talker, warrior and organiser but we also need someone to put the ball in the net and Theo is a proven premier league scorer, year in year out...sign him up! He will also excite our disillusioned fanbase and that is worth a lot. Hope instead of despair...that's what we would get with Theo
  8. It is true that Walcott does not fit the profile (young with a re-sale value) but he does fit the profile of what we need (proven premier league goalscorer). I would favourn his arrival because I think he is the sort of player who would give us something to get excited about and therefore raise the morale on the terraces and in the club. And that is worth a lot of money
  9. Please don't replace VVD again, we've been replacing him for ages Hoedt, the Polish guy and the one who has been out injured for five years, he must be ready in another year or so meantime we've already got Yoshida and our own Jack Stephens who did well last season and deserves the opportunity this season. A fast moving forward, yes, another centre back, no.
  10. Best poss way to spend some of the VVD money, Theo has a lot left--five good years with us would make up for a lot, proper attacking style, winger or centre...get him in!

    Les Reed

Its easy to say 'get him out, get him out' but who is there to come in? and what do the Chinese know about who's who in football? And who and what does the Canadian ice hockey fellow know? Maybe Les is a better bet after all

    Gary Monk

Three times sacked, what sort of cv is that? We need someone who has tasted success, and wants more.
  13. If we go down we have even less chance of getting rid of the overpaid dross who will not want to take a pay cut. We will be stymied. I am becoming more and more sure the players are the problem, not the manager. Puel's failure here and success everywhere else is a sign and now we have the same trouble again.
  14. It would be nice to have £70m to invest in fresh talent (who?) and it would be nice to have Stephens restored to the squad but what are the chances of the £70m being used for the team? We have no idea, it may be used to clear the debt Gao ran up to buy us and also if we don't hold VVD to contract it means all the other contracts the players have become worthless, so what was the point of giving long contracts---and at very much higher wages. Player power is winning, the fans are the mugs

Those people didn't want Mane sold, they were willing to give him away and drive him to who ever would have him
  16. The vote for the manager out shows 84% but its like bombing Iraq or Libya, how do you know you will get someone better?
  17. Why no MoM vote?
  18. FF made a brilliant diving save first half and caught several crosses in crowded goalmouth, big plus plus today, give him credit!
  19. No one mentions Yoshida, he seems to be taken for granted. Thought he was a tower of strength today (and all season)
  20. I wanted Puel out because the football was negative and we hadn't seen a home goal at St Mary's for yonks. Now I think it was the players and not Puel who should have taken the blame (all those missed penalties for a start). With VVD injured for half the season and no replacement for Mane and Wanyama Puel got us to 8th place and a cup final...deserved a medal really
  21. What's happened to Fonte, have I missed his retirement or is he injured?
  22. When it comes to relegation I look for clubs with chaos off the field as much as problems on the field, so I think Huddersfield will be ok--well run and well managed--and probably Palace will escape for the same reason. It is Hammers who look in trouble and Swansea used to be well run but have messed up recently. And the third one? Well, we are a bit confused with unknown owners who are missing and have no money but recent form says we will be ok. That leaves Stoke and WBA. So it is WHU, Swansea and WBA. I would have said Everton a week ago, that's how quickly it can all change.
  23. Picking on Redmond is no help to anyone, it is what 'fans' did to Mane, (don't blame him for leaving,) now look at his reputation----give players encouragement and support that is what fans are for.
  24. Not a big fan of MP2, in fact I am seriously disappointed in spite of last Sunday's improvement BUT I am off the idea of replacing him. If one of Pardew, Big Fat Sam, Moyes all old names being recycled yet again had come we would have been worse off. If that is the level of alternatives, let's stick.
  25. There is no effort to re-write history, he was a vital cog in the team that led us back to the big time. But the reality is that he has gone downhill since leaving us and wouldn't get in our team on current form. That's all. Sad, yet I don't feel sorry for him, he got what he wanted. It just didn't do his career any good but his bank balance is ok for the rest of his life
