Like him or not NC has done wonders for our Club and i can' agree with demonstrating against him even tho' I think an injustice has been done and we've lost the best manager since Ted. But it's COYR for me and nothing else rlse

I'm with FF on this one but would only add that in the previous regime (Lowe, Wilde and all that shambolic lot) we didn't have any control over them either, we just longed for them to be gone, so we lost nothing and gained everything in the changeover. I'm shocked by yesterday but the worst thing we could do is a Chelsea style protest

what about Ron Davies?
-
he wasn't a very good player tbh but we loved him because he was passionate and whole hearted but definitely the thuggish type

One of those who spent more time with a sick note than on the field

Never done it for England

How much control should the chairman have over signings?
Dellman replied to old_southy's topic in The Saints
The chairman holds the money, the chairman works to a budget, the chairman has to balance the books and if he doesn't we get in the mess down the road.No doubt the manager tells him what he wants, the scouts find what he wants then its over to the chairman to negotiate the terms. Simple. What's the issue? -
Proud of the development of this team and manager
Dellman replied to washsaint's topic in The Saints
I'm also proud to be a saint, proud of the team and the way it is shaping up, especially proud of the players who got us up from the bottom of Lg1 and are still seeing us rise, proud of the manager and his back to back promotions he's held his own nerve and got the players improving at the same time, I wouldn't swop him for anyone in the Premiership. But in the background there is NC who gets a lot of criticism in fact he is the man with the vision who saw the possibilities when we were down and out, and the money which has made it possible. I'm proud of him too and I wouldn't swop him for any of the others out there, we might have had a chap like Storey or the crooks he gathered -
even the BBC pundits admit they first thought it was a clear penalty, it takes about five slow motion replays to see he wasn't touched, but that doesn't mean he dived, players do fall over in a melee or moving at speed to avoid tackles. why not just say that instead of implying cheating?

Waste of space discussing the next manager when we've got one and a very good one, it's the sort of chatter that undermines stability and gets the press talking about NA getting the sack. who gains?
-
People who criticise Reed really must be pathological moaners, we've got a training set up which is admired everywhere, we've got a young set as good as any as their results show, we are building youngsters who actually want to continue with us (eg Shaw) what is there to moan about, the guy deserves a medal btw who cares what happened at Charlton years ago?
-
who trusts the press? they have to sell papers, rumours make their living, doesn't mean there is anything in it.Cortese and Adkins are in it together for the long term that's my opinion and I hope it's right but I am no more ITK than the Daily Fail

We don't buy has-beens, we used to in the bad old days but not now!
-
It's odd to read pundits complaining about overspend, not long ago this site was full of moaners declaring there was no ambition
-
Every player we buy, every improvement to the training ground may represent a loss in the annual figures but they represent a big plus in the value of the Club. As we are in private hands if they choose to sell they will obtain more not less. It's quite different from what the criminals down the road did to the Skates.

Fortunately the Echo never gets things right

Sorenson is prone to mistakes and Green WORSE, Robinson is too fat and a man of the past, Gazzaringa is our future, Kelvin is our past, Boruc is the man of the moment, get used to it and back him 100%
-
'arry gave his son one last big payday when he signed the cripple for us, I expect him to give his nephew a big payday at the expense of Mr Fernandes who obviously has more money than sense (or 'Arry wouldn't be there)
-
I was as disappointed as anyone when they left us but in the case of Theo it was understandable because the Club was in chaos and going downhill fast. it was abit differeent for Oxo because we had recovered and were on the up, I reckon his Skate dad had a decisive say in that and so I don't blame either player and I really want them to have great careers, so it was absolutely great, and very unusual in football, to see both players appreciating us and therefore the Club. Top marks all round!

I'm surprised we've managed as well as we have without AL, shows the manager is building a genuine squad, but I want AL back as soon as poss NOT as captain, let Fonte carry on he has been terrific and centre of defence is the best place for a captain
-
If its a GK we need, what is wrong with Shane Given he is supposed to be free to move, I used to think he was exc has something happened to him? Not Robinson please, something has happened to him he's got fat and lost confidence
-
Butland is a bit over-rated, he may be good one day but I don't want him learning at our expense, Gazza is doing that already
-
Great acknowledgement of a true Saint both in over 800 appearances record goals for a winger, the one who led us from 3rd division to top division, was in World Cup winning squad with England for whom he once scored a hattrick, and a local boy as well, now our President Well done Terry, well done Cortese!
-
Some go on about KK it was exciting at the time but he didn't stay long, Alan Ball was a better signing for the long term and bringing Mick Channon back from Man City gave us a few good years and has anyone mentioned David Armstrong, don't know where he came from but he was a great signing. For me the best of all must be Terry from winchester, 18 years and 800 games from old 3rd division to the top, well done Ted!

Staying up and Cortese confirming he is here for the long term because next season will be great as the young mature and NA and NC do a bit more polishing
