He'd still be in the payroll so that's not much of a solution.
-
Nope, but most football contracts are fixed term so have to be fully paid up if cancelled by the club. There's no reason to believe Ralph's contract is anything other than standard.
-
If he's got the thick end of 2 years left on his deal and he's earning £70k PW, that's £7m. Rumours are that he's on more than that though, so it'll be more than £7m.

Why would Frank come here? He's got a better squad at Brentford. Arrogant to assume that he'd come running if we click our fingers.

The Possibility of a Proper Derby Match is on the Horizon
egg replied to John B's topic in The Saints
I love derby games, and if we're going down, playing them twice a season would soften the blow. I can see it happening sadly, we can't score or create, only have flyweight cover at full back, the keeper looks bang average, and we're light in midfield. Pompey's centre forward would improve us. -
He's average, but he wasn't our worst player last night. Villa kicked lumps out of him and he won feeekicks. JWP was shit. Diallo dreadful. Djenepo busy but clueless. A Armstrong crap. Ditto Adams. Don't start me on the keeper. We all like a scapegoat, but we had worse players yesterday.
-
To be fair, if he's going to play Maguire at CB, we'll need to protect him with about 6 defensive midfielders.

I haven't heard what he said, but Fantasy Scout aren't predicting him to start. Their predicted line up is:

We're on different pages. My understanding on the buyback is that is that we must accept a City offer that matches the figure, but that the player doesn't have to go there, and that anyone else can bid for the lad. If I'm correct, I go back to my point that if City offer the £40mil and another club offers say £60m, the lad can tell City he ain't going there unless they look after him very well. Thus, the buyback figure only governs what we get from the deal if the player wants to go back to City, but not the what the player can seek from City if he's in demand.
-
It's not first refusal. Someone can offer more than the buyback. City can then offer the buyback, and if they do that, the player becomes the main beneficiary, ie "I'll come to you for £40mil but I'll need £5mil, my agent £2mil, and a few hundred thousand a week in wages please". The buyback puts the kid in the driving seat if he fulfils his potential.
-
I don't think we'll need to compel the lad, the buyback and his market value will likely make it worth his while to go back to City. Eg, if the buyback is £40m, and someone else is offering £60m, he'll doubtless be able to negotiate a huge signing on fee to return to City.

Yep, completely clueless. North v South...so a Man City/Man Utd/Liverpool etc mash up against a Spurs/Arsenal etc mash up. You've gotta be a complete idiot to think that fans will stand side by side and watch that. As for the MLB all stars point, it's in a non contact sport...PL clubs ain't going to send their players it for some glorified exhibition. Fecking dinlo.

The Newcastle game is 2 months away. That weekends fixtures were always going to be moved, ditto every match week thereafter. The bottom line is no TV money, no premier league. Games will always be shifted for TV.

Yep. Our recent CB signing.

I knew MLG was lurking...you make a very good point!

Queues. We're good at them.

Can't believe people are suggesting DCC or Lyanco in midfield. They're both centre backs. Ralph will play midfielders in midfield. For those saying that AMM ain't Romeo or Romeu, of course he's not, he's AMM. He's been desperate to prove himself as a midfielder for ages and I have no doubt he signed to be play there when he can. He'll do ok, this is a big opportunity for him. We'll be ok on Friday. 2-1 to Saints.

Ha! I can relate to that. Whenever I kick a ball (years after the last time) I'm always surprised that my touch is still there, and the ability to still judge the weight of pass etc. The legs are fecked though. It's brilliant how the kids bounce off us though. I'll do the buttering and filling if you like, you can do the triangles.

I'm not sure anyone has said otherwise. Ukraine need to keep up the attack, and the west need to keep up the support. The bully absolutely needs to be beaten, but that doesn't alter that he's a loon who could lash out in any way.
