A Armstrong aside, that line up is better than many we've put out this season.

Redmond would have offered much more this season than Moi, Orsic or Edozie.

We went for quantity over quality, potential over proven. Absolute clusterfuck. The amount we spent on Larios, Mara and Edozie could have bought us the one goalscorer who'd have kept us up, ditto the money on Sulemana and big Paul in the January window. Ditto the goalie - that money, plus maybe a bit more, could have got us someone who could actually make saves and not send his defence into a panic. Poor recruitment has cost us. It's a real shame as the owners haven't been afraid to spend.

I don't think anyone has said that he's shit. The truth is that he is a great free kick taker (not a great dead ball man - many of his corners are dreadful, our last one on Monday for example). He is also hard working, committed and super fit. However, he doesn't make breaks between the lines, his tackling ain't great, he's slow, he doesn't make many incisive passes, and he's slower to use the ball than a top level midfielder should be. That's not me saying he's shit, far from it, just highlighting the faults as I see them and why I think he's still at Saints and constantly overlooked for England. He's replaceable is the championship. We've had good service from him, but I don't believe premier league clubs have been chasing him. I've heard that he was told a while ago that he could move on, but in reality I'm not sure where he'd go and be a regular starter. West Ham perhaps when Rice goes, Newcastle perhaps, but I can't see where else he'd be needed as a starter. I think we'll cash in if we can, but I can't see a long line of buyers and/or a massive fee.

We could do a lot worse than him. Did well at Blackburn last season. Knows the championship, and English football generally.

Yep, I'm putting him forward as our next captain cos he plays like a captain. If he'd drop with us into the championship, I'd have him there in a heartbeat.
