Referencing how we played with Pelle is pointless. Pelle was superb, and tall Paul has shown none of his qualities - he's a big lad who can play down the middle with his back to goal. He has no pace, his movement is poor, he rarely jumps, and hasn't shown himself as someone who'll hold the ball up and bring others into the game. It's not that Telles isn't good enough to play him in a different way, it's that tall Paul isn't good enough to offer any more. I know that we're desperate, but expecting this lad to morph into a player that he isn't, is an expectation too far.

Was that a Russian claim, or something that's come from the West?

This ain't 1984 mate, strikers need to be mobile these days. It also helps if a big lad can jump. He can't. Selles didn't play him cos he's not good enough.
-
His movement is poor. No amount of games is going to change that. Selles played players who could move their defence around. It didn't work, but we'd have been no better with tall paul imo.

Tall Paul isn't up to it and Adams is injured. Who did you want him to play up there?

There's not enough class on or off the pitch in football. It was quality, and I have no problem with some fans applauding it.

Yep. Forget the focus on the offside (the scorer was onside so correct decision), the issue was Bazunu stood over near his right post and taking about an hour to dive about 6 inches to his left.

I can't be arsed to read back through this exchange, but I don't know wtf your point is. If it's that WW2 was a war fought in the name of God or religion, it wasn't. If it's merely that Hitler might have believed in God, that's a shit point, and pointless one. Your finest forum moments have been pretty shit SOG, but you're having a nightmare here mate.

I get that. If Russia were removed on a majority vote (assuming China objected), in reality, what's the fallout? They just need the balls to do the right thing.

It's unbelievable that they're still a UN permanent member, and to be able to take the presidency is outrageous.

When you think it's everybody else SoG, it usually isn't.

Not Michael Vaughan https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/65135694

Yep, that's my understanding. He was plenty good enough for yes, and under contract. His not playing, then being sold, did not feel like 'rotation' or a even football related decision.
-
Yep, various rumours about him, but he never should have been frozen out or allowed to leave. The squads we had at that time had the potential to do very well. They were good times.
-
Yep. One of those players who could have been really good for us with a bit more luck and a following wind. Tadic was the same, very good, but the potential for so much more. Dare I say it, I think Ramirez fits in the same category - one hell of a player in there, I'm just unsure if it was the wrong time or just the wrong league.

Transfermarkt puts the Clasie fee at €15m. If it was £6m then fair enough, that's reasonable value. I honestly think Carillo would offer no less than tall Paul. That's not praise for Carillo btw, just my view that they're equally shit. Lemina deserves a mention. Great talent, but appalling attitude.

Tall Paul or Carillo off the bench? Nothing in it for me - both shocking bits of business. Clasie deserves an honourable mention.
