Forgive me for being underwhelmed by the prospect of a successful championship manager. We're a top 8 premier league club. I don't want a lower league manager/coach, a novice like Giggs, someone who's only managed a mid table team in Germany or France or wherever, or someone who's managed 300 clubs and been sacked countless times. Puel wasn't any if those things so I can see why he got the job - we need someone like him but who recognises the need to play a decent brand of footy. No idea who though!!
-
I think I'm in the minority of being scared to death by the prospect of us having a 48 year old journeyman who had one half decent season in the championship. Gary Rowett did OK in the championship and I'd be as underwhelmed by him as I would be this guy.
-
Blanc is where my money is. Available, big name, decent.
-
There's not many we've released that have gone on to prove the club wrong. I never understood Tim Sparv being let good and 49 caps for Finland suggests he's a decent player still. Hardly a Pogba or Michael Keane type error though.
-
Flying Dutchman is always decent. Big screens.
-
Thought the same. The average academy player will have bigger legs than him - looks like a fella who hasn't done any proper training for a while.
-
Yep, he's a proper wind up merchant who makes no decent contribution and I suspect has made many genuine fan steer clear of the site. More to follow?
-
Nope but very, very close. We pay, and pay well.
-
So what makes you think he's making it up? Our wage structure isn't as low as you'd think. Osvaldo early very very well, Ramirez also.
-
The sort of mindless drivel you'd be proud of.
-
The lad is half decent. Superb display tonight.

There valuations are nuts. A few examples of our players with comparisons. Harry Reed €4.3 million (more than Lucas Leiva at €3.2m), Sam McQueen €6.6m (Kieran Gibbs is €7.0m, Gael Clichy €2.4m), Ward Prowse €17.8m (Jack Wilshere €9.5m), Jack Stephens €2.9m (twice Gardos at €1.2m, and Yoshida is only €4.8m) Matt Targett €7.8m. Jay Rodriguez is valued at €4.1m, but Danny Ings (similar injury to Jay but still out) at €6.5m. As for Virgil, €60m - that one I agree with.

Saints 1 Norwich 0 - For Once We Score A Late Winner!

Nicely put and about how I saw it. I'd put sims in the good category too, despite going missing here and there. If you had a very good category I'd pop McQueen in that, great performance. -

He'd do well imo. At Southend he played midfield, out wide and up top. He's a clever disciplined player who'd do well pretty much anywhere I reckon. -
Bialkowski's your sub keeper then, a decent championship keeper who looked good enough at times to be a top keeper but just fell a little short.
-
Spot on. As someone above has said, several clubs have signed the odd gem who's destined for bigger and better things but we've done it more than any other club I can think of. Sure, not every new recruit will be better than the player sold but imo Romeu is an upgrade on Wanyama, VVD an improvement on Toby, Boufal could given time be at least as good as Mane. Our fan base have become spoiled and anyone who thinks we can keep hold of players in the face of big offers from big clubs, and more to the point sign them players without promising to polish them up and give them their big move when the time comes, is deluded.
-
That's my guess and I reckon he's burned his bridges in all areas. VVD conducts himself as a skipper and there were leaders all over the park tonight.
-
Where's that figure from? I know lads in the conference earning £2k per, and lads in the conference south just a little less. League 1 wages must be much more you would think.

Out. The over rotation is ridiculous. We played superbly away at Bournemouth, had 10 days rest then made changes galore. Pointless. Since then yet more changes for the sake of it. We look unfit. Many late goals conceded. The formation is negative and doesn't suit the players. Granted he was dealt the players but he has the ability to change the formation. The style of play is dull. I can't remember when I was last so bored watching a saints team. More worryingly, and maybe others can confirm, but apparently the players are unhappy and complain that the manager is distant and that he overworks them. We need a change.
-
He had a shocker and hasn't been great for a while. As someone said above he should have done better for all the goals, particularly the last two which I would expect any top flight keeper to have dealt with. Anyone know how long mckay is out for?
-
Same problem. It's happening with an iPhone and also Android if I try to open the mobile site. I've switched it the full site option which works OK but isn't great on a mobile

I can't bring myself to dislike Bournemouth just because the skates have more chance of league game against Eastleigh or gosport than they do against us. That rivalry, as a fixture, is gone but Bournemouth don't step in as the team we dislike. Maybe one day but for the moment they're just little old Bournemouth who I kind of like.

Ryde is very Pompey. Newport 50/50. Cowes much more Saints orientated, West Wight also. If I were you I'd head to cowes and go with the flow.

Yes. We can all identify the problem, lack of goals. But what's the solution with our current fit players? Yes we have a transfer window soon but with what's at his disposal please tell me what more CP could have done and can do until the window, thanks.
