  1. I like that back 3. I'd have Redmond up top in that system with JWP in behind with Armstrong.
  2. All this 'my made up theory is better than your made up theory' is hilarious. None of us have a clue what he knew/knows/thinks but in any event we have the squad that we do. Get behind the team and the manager ffs
  3. It may come as a shock to you, but there's a world, and opinions, outside this forum. I agree though that he should never have been readmitted - aside of his comments form 2012, he wouldn't have progressed the labour party.
  4. As I say, it was stupid and misguided, but we need to get away from this perception and belief that speaking out against the Israeli government is antisemitic. I deplore the behaviour of the Israeli government, its occupation of the West Bank, settlements, blockade of Gaza etc etc but I have no issue with Jews, Judaism and agree that there should be an Israeli state. If I were a labour member (I'm far from it) my views would probably deem me antisemitic. Hatton seemingly had that view and yes he was wrong to seek to get support for his views from Jewish people and use the words that he did, but fundamentally his principle of criticising Israel was not antisemitic, although the delivery was wrong.
  5. We agree on the fundamental issue that criticising Israel is not in itself antisemitic. We disagree on the singling out which I see as stupid, misguided and inappropriate, but not antisemitic.
  6. Yes or no, is expressing a negative view of the Israeli government and its behaviour antisemitic? That's my only issue.
  7. I am not trolling, andI have better things to do than join in a wider debate. Not one repsonse has addressed the question of why criticism of the Israeli government and its actions is being deemed as antisemitic. Odd.
  8. What's that got to do with the Derek Hatton' tweet?! My question related to that only. Re' dozens of posts', I'd appreciate just one to explain why criticism of the Israeli government is apparently antisemitic - that was my sole point.
  9. Thanks for posting that. I hadn't seen or heard that and agree with your interpretation - it did seem that RH anticipated a replacement.
  10. That's a very stretched and liberal interpretation of what he actually said.
  11. Yep, got that. Which part of his tweet condemns the Jewish faith or its people, i.e. which part is antisemitic?
  12. But people on here like him so the fact that the manager wouldn't play him is irrelevant. Or something.
  13. Hatton, did not impugn humanity or indeed even vaguely criticise any race or religion in that tweet. His tweet related to a government.
  14. Cheers.
  15. That's a different issue and you ignore mine. My question (with emphasis added so you don't miss it) is how is expressing and urging criticism of a GOVERNMENT and its policies amount to racism against a RACE OF PEOPLE? I believe the government of Chad are a disgrace, ditto Venezuela - does that make me racist against black Africans and south/central Americans? By this new interpretation of antisemitism it must, there's no difference.
  16. This apparent labour anti semitism. I've just seen the tweet from 2012 that led to Derek Hatton being suspended. In a tweet in 2012, he urged "Jewish people with any sense of humanity" to condemn Israel's "ruthless murdering". In what way is that anti semitic? His issue is with the Israeli government actions, not the Jewish people, their faith, and he doesn't question the right of Israel to exist. Am I missing something? Sure he's a militant cock, but based on that tweet he's not an anti semite.
  17. When did Chuka become white? I hope someone has told him.
  18. A few more are rumoured too, plus some tories. Once they grow, hopefully they'll put the focus more on their values as they relate to Britain and its politics. I'd much rather that than the current focus on "antisemitism" which is a word that has sadly become confused with having a negative view of the actions and policies of the Israeli government, rather than its actual meaning of having a negative view of Judaism and Jewish people.
  19. What's the point of a thread trying to guess what RH may think?! None of us know, and even if we did, it wouldn't change anything. We have what we have, and bar the fragile Ings, most of us agree that our strikers aren't good enough. Whether RH has "faith in himself, his coaching staff and his players" as SaintZamboni says we'll never know, but he ain't got any choice but to put his faith in himself and them.
  20. The manager has a choice between various rocks and hard places. Obafemi looked well overweight in the recent training pics, hasn't played in ages, and when he has played has looked very raw. I've seen him lots for the u23's. He has pace, his movement is OK, his touch less so, and finishing needs work. I'm not convinced he's a premier league player. My point though is that playing a player who is not ready/good enough in place of someone who is past it/not good enough is not the solution. I'd rather see Redmond through the middle away to Arsenal with others playing around him.
  21. I can't understand this approach. Sure, Long is average on a good day, but that doesn't suddenly make Obafemi good enough, which he isn't.
  22. Yep, been coming. I think they'll attract others from Labour. It'll become interesting if any tories join them, if so it'll be hard for that group and the lib dems to avoid doing something together.

    Mr Gao....

    1. Why must she invest in something that she inherited? Bizarre to suggest she should have. 2. Who says she lied? Just a thought, but perhaps she was assured by Gao that he would take us to the next level, thus he lied. 3. Oversaw a decline...what does that mean? She hung onto control after inheriting, I'm guessing out of obligation, then bailed out. She was not obliged to do anything else, was she?
  24. Yep, they're a complete disgrace. Nantes will have financial commitments from this sale, and then there is Cardiff mourning the loss of their player but refusing to pay for him.

    Mr Gao....

To a seller, the sale of his/her asset is a sale. More importantly, in the sale of any asset (footy club, house, car, anything) the seller has no obligation after sale. The bottom line is that Gao appears to be a man of straw and will not take us forward. That's a problem, but not an issue for Kat.
