  1. NC had oodles of cash to play with in a lower league, and spent pretty much whatever he wanted to. The latter part is what cost him his job. He was able to bring in players too good for our level, hence we achieved what we did. Essentially, we were the PSG of league 1. Re asset stripping, just look at the accounts, please. We spend what we have, there's nothing being stripped out. I get that he's not sinking money into the club, but let's not go the other way and accuse him of stripping money out. Like you, I hope that we get an owner willing to throw money at us without expecting it back, but people willing to do that are few and far between.

  3. Not often I agree with you, but agreed. The last article I saw from the main red bull man though was that he can't see the value of the premier league.
  4. I don't see the performance of his staff as a Gao issue. He had every right to rely on experienced football people to spend tens of millions wisely. They didn't, we have a shiite squad, yet Gao is the fall guy. Those people have gone but the poor players and their contracts haven't. If we didn't spend what we could (our accounts suggests we have) then I'd be all over Gao, but our transfer failings haven't been down to Gao being unwilling to spend what we have. However you cut it, the only actual criticism on here attributable to Gao himself is that he hasn't put cash into the club.
  5. Isn't the only actual criticism of Gao that he doesn't sink personal monies into the club?
  6. The biggest fallacy is that we haven't spent money. We've spent a fortune. My issue is with muppets who've been in charge and overseen the signing of complete shiite at inflated prices and on ridiculous contracts. I think most sensible people can see that. That said, I'd love an owner with more money than sense rather than one with more sense than money.
  7. I suspect you're in a very small minority with that view. Nonetheless, the fa won't allow the name change - we'd just do an arsenal and have a branded stadium and shirts, with all sorts of perimeter and stadium branding. I'd welcome any legitimate owner who's willing to throw money at the club.

  10. Great post. The sending off changed the game completely. We didn't lose cos they were better as such, we lost because we played most of the game with 10 men. Re Cedric. Not only has he become a world beater since he's gone, he's also miraculously got over his injury that'll keep him out for another week or two. Truth is, if he was still here rather than KWP we'd have less options at RB but let's not let facts get in the way of a good whinge from the usual. We're far from great but we'll be ok.

  13. Yep. Could arguably have Valery at RB instead but it's a coin toss for me. I just want to see JWP back in the middle where he belongs. I've got a feeling though that we'll see something different, 3 at the back perhaps.

    Flybe/SOU

I've not seen much sadly, just a lot (to be fair not here) selfish whining about having to drive the audi to Manchester rather than fly, or have to get a flight from Gatwick or Bournemouth to their holiday home or to enjoy some winter sun. Bless. Inevitably this is a worrying time for all the employees of flybe, and the airport. Hopefully there'll be some kind of rescue from somewhere but it seems unlikely in the current climate.

    Coronavirus

The poster above said the 1 in 3/Italian death stat related to case that'd run the course. I've no idea what that means but the Italian cases number over 2000 with 79 deaths so I read it as a 3% or so death rate, not 1 in 3.

  18. Sadly it's looking like a nice little confidence boost instead.
  19. To be fair, it's all a load of ******.
  20. Nothing wrong with you posting u23/u18 stuff mate, keep on doing it ?
  21. It really isn't. Someone can still be a fan despite not buying a ticket for a particular match. I'm not willing to spend £40/£60 to see us play Newcastle and I'm still a committed fan.

  23. Yep, it's a really young u23 team, and has been all season. Vokins was the senior member of tonights back 4, and he's a kid. Taking out the 2 first teamers, I'd hazard a guess that the average age of tonights team was 18 or 19. It's not surprising that we're not competing at that level.

  25. I don't pretend to understand the subtlety of the rules, but how is he not interfering by moving his legs to allow the ball to go in? Had he stayed still he would have prevented the goal.
