I'm saying that I have seen no evidence that there was consistent demand, thus I have seen no evidence to justify the cost if expansion or relocation. Our club is now run by a businessman, not an idealist. No prudent businessman would spend money adding a few seats to st marys without us being established in the top flight with consistent demand for tickets. Even then it would only stack up if the cost led to a return over a relatively short period.

That's about the norm, although it's a mad amount of cash. I cant see the point on wasting loads on the wedding. You can have a decent day and night for much less than that. Interesting question and a good op. I would love see us back amongst the big boys, but I agree with the op in that I dont want to go back to a struggle for survival. That said, I dont want us to be a cardiff and nearly go up every year, that would drive me nuts. On balance I would welcome promotion, but hope that there really is money available (i am not convinced there is) to give us a decent chance of survival, and then a platform to help us build.

You forget about the admin cost, heat and light etc. Bits of paper do not push themselves around. Staff and bills have to be paid and any sensible business passes the cost to the customer.

Pilgrim House has gone downhill. Decor is crap, service worse and food even worse. Kachina is excellent. Great service and food. Cant believe the nice words for little Buddha, the place stinks of grease and the food is bloody awful.

Yes, but due to the cost we test for specific drugs. You pay per drug category, ie amphetamines etc. Alcohol is another category. The testing is so advanced now you can usually go back up to six months and test individual months within that. You can also use body hair if someone does a Britney or reaches for the bleach. Alcohol is normally tested by liver function or carbohydrates deficiency testing though, cos its cheap. Neither is perfect and can be "gotten around".

Not always in urine. Hair will last months, but is not used in football. I get involved in drug testing for work. Loads of people fail hair strand testing after getting through urine tests. People thought Britney was going mad when she shaved her hair... Concateno Tricotech are the main testing company. There website is quite informative oh these things.

Cracking article - thanks. The ones that got away were Sparv and Kritchell. Sparv oozed class whenever I saw him. Kritchell had bags of ability but injury ruined a promising career. Who was in charge when we let Sparv go? Whoever it was should be shot.
