I agree that he shouldn't be but he most definitely will. Same situation with the keepers unfortunately.
-
I wish it was anybody else reporting it but TalkSport saying we're looking at Oxlade-Chamberlain on loan as well.
-
As long as he's combined with an Eduoard or Armstrong then that's a fine move. Anything which pushes Long further out the door.
-
Two attacking players to replace him is absolutely what we need, similar to Villa replacing Grealish with 3 players. I'm hoping we can get Armstrong and Edouard as my first choice, but would be okay with one of them and somebody else on loan with an option. I still think we desperately need another 6 as well.

Madueke has 2 in 30 minutes against Ajax in the Dutch Super Cup, including an absolute worldie. I think he's way out of our league already, mind.

I think we like to forget how poor the teams around us also are. Watford/Norwich/Brentford have done borderline nothing and Burnley/Newcastle haven’t either. Brighton are weaker after finishing below us and Palace have a monster rebuild going on, despite looking to have done well so far. I think we’ll finish between 12th-15th, depending on us bringing in a good striker before the month closes out. Going to go with 14th.

Forster KWP - Bednarek - Salisu - Perraud Diallo - Romeu Armstrong - Walcott Adams - Tella Subs: McCarthy, Stephens, Livramento, Valery, Redmond, Djenepo, Obafemi I'd imagine it has to be this, with JWP in for Diallo if he's miraculously fit. Hopefully a place in the squad for Vestergaard too if he's not long gone.

2-0. Let's get battered and ensure some signings. Viva Athletic.
-
Maybe a stupid point but recruitment-wise winning 4 on the bounce without much issue may not have been the best thing.
-
It's just lump balls into the channel for Obafemi and Long to chase so far haha, pretty glad I didn't travel down for this one.
-
Obafemi - Long wouldn't even be an impressive Championship striker partnership.
-
Terrible at Palace, followed by a good loan spell in Turkey and a poor season in Germany.

I understand that some players peak late in their career. However you're implying that we should never be disappointed with a players career output because they may just randomly become good one day like Pelle did. We have every right to be disappointed in the prospect of signing a 26 year old who has had one good season throughout his career in a poor standard of football. You'd be a lot more useful to the forum if you tried to actually think rather than just looking to 'one-up' everyone.
-
How do you not realise how irrelevant that is? We didn't sign Pelle due to how he was whilst he was shit?
-
Surely even you realise how stupid that point is right?
-
Giakoumakis's CV is remarkably depressing for a 26 year old. One good season in Holland throughout his entire career is something we shouldn't even be thinking about.
-
Hate to be the one to fuel your negativity but GFFN just came out and said Brighton hoping to wrap up Edouard deal within the next week.

If you look on Grealish’ Instagram there’s about 30 good luck wishes from pretty much every single member of the Villa squad. On top of the countless videos on the clubs page as well as his own. Not a single message from a Saints player and nothing from the club themselves either for Ings. I’m honestly surprised this one went completely sour but I’d love to know why.

Was just reading that he's available for around £13m and Napoli are interested. He was seriously highly rated when he came over. Edit: Added source
-
I'd rather sell him for £20m than lose him for free next Summer. Although that is on the potentially unrealistic expectation that we actually reinvest the £45m~ brought in.
-
Two Championship seasons with 20+ goals and a 15 goal Prem one at the age of 23 despite never really being Chelsea's main choice. He'd definitely be my number 1 choice but I imagine there's teams out there willing to sign him permanently which we won't, also teams who are far better such as Atalanta. Also, if he was suddenly available for loan then I imagine he'd end up at West Ham.
-
He's also 5 years younger, come on now.
-
Stylistically I'd definitely prefer Edouard. A threat in the box (seeing as Che hasn't scored a header in his career) would be useful and from what I've seen at Celtic he's got a great touch in particular. I believe we've only ever been linked to him in The Sun so who knows if he's even on our radar.

Sky are one of the worst sources out there at the moment. Both sides of The Athletic and Blackmore etc are all saying £30m.
