Patience needed.

the 'namby pamby' approach only works when things are going well.

Peter Shilton and kevin keegan. But remember james Beattie had a stormer of a season under WGS that propelled us to one of our most successful Premier seasons.

David Hurst fell down a rabbit hole when running across the New Forest, so anything is possible.

Not as good as NA, but in his day yes, very good.

LOL. Calm down......

Some people fought in the tenches at 17 and the lucky ones that did survive often lived to a good age.

I think Connolly could be one of the most influetial players in any team. If only he did not spend so much time in the treatment room.

Any objections to a Dalek trundling along with a scarf tied to the plunger ?

If it wasn't for the money that the club gets from the premier league i woul be happy to oscliate between the Championship and the premier league. However, next year the premier leaugue mone will be immnese and the longer you are in the Premier the easier it will be able tostay in. Norwich are a good example.

Who or what has been significant in our turnaround?
Dalek2003 replied to up and away's topic in The Saints
We haven't turned a corner. We have been travelling on a more favourable gradient. I expect us to bob in and out of the botttom three all season, just hope we are above the bottom three at the end. -
A weekend off, where will we be at the end of it?

Turkish getting a right rinsing tonight -
So you got it wrong. At least you made a bold statement and added to the entertainment. The worst type of posters are those 'pale little snipers' who say **** all, contribute nothing to the debate and then delight in reminding people how wrong they are ! Not saying that Kraken is one, because he just knows it all in this instance.

Agreed and those extra 4 points would add just a little more comfort to thingss. Anyway, up the canaries ! -
Scoff all you like, I have had my fair share of kicks and ridicule in the last 10 years but I am a torchbearer and one day people will appreciate my campaign to keep the search for answers burning so bright. There are sone fans who are so embarassed by their stance against Hoddle in 2004 and ashamed of thei part in SFC's downfall that they want the episode conveniently forgotten. I must be a big thorn in their side !
-
In answer to some posters, the reason why the hoddle issue keeps coming up, is it is crucial to understanding the clubs recent history. in particular, 2004 was the point that the club began its rapid decline and lost its proud run in the top league. It is also a cruciaol episode because the appointment of Hoddle was almost a foregone conclusion before the board was sppoked by a vocal minority. Therefore this group had part responsibility to the near destruction of the club. The issue in 2004 that is still unexplained was the bizzare decision to appoint Paul Sturrock that almost certainly condemned SFC. Did Lowe do this because he was annoyed at the board and the vocal minority as a tactic to prove that he was right to want to appoint the more capable Hoddle ? There is alos the issue of the players, who clearly expected a more capable manager than Sturrock. Was the above proof that the Hoddle deal was scuppered at the last moment. These question all need answering imo.

I was very vocal in my backing for NA and so were a few others, dispite a torrent of abuse. We have a long way to go and some hard days ahead as well. I hope the bedwetters and doom mongers hold their nerve in future.

Message to Halo, check out our points ratio under Hoddle and our position in the PREMIER LEAGUE when he left. Also, Hoddle was a very good England manager and was sacked for non footballing reasons that he did apologise for, quite rightly.
-
that's the point. For most people it was such an obvious choice, that it was almost guaranteed to go ahead. It would have done as well, had it not been for the mouthy few spooking the board and then appointing the wholly inadequate Sturrock as a panic move. The whole apple cart was upset and the rest is history.

Dalek is not getting rinsed by Vectis. I would say that Vectis is desperately trying to deflect the argument away from the part he played in the downfall of the club.
-
I think your first sentence probably does prove it.
-
The same ones that barracked the appointment of Hoddle in 2004 and yes they do post on here, although they will now deny they were part of the Guly booing. Same as they deny their moronic behaviour in 2004. I have spent nearly 10 years winkling them out and will continue for the next 10

Er....the yoyo strategy is called forward planning. It is in place IF we get relegated. That makes us different from that basket case down the road ! Now, please pay attention !
