we need Plymouth to do us a big favour, Rochdale and Carlisle too
I agree Nick.
How many people predicated the Dany N'guessan signing?
That's exactly it and how we work now. The signings we make are ones that have not been speculated, or even considered by us half of the time.
I'd expect us to play Seaborne or Martin at CB alongside Fonte.
no disrespect to Jaidi, but we'd have a massacre on our hands if he plays at CB. He's not got the pace to cope with these sort of players anymore.
We've moved on now and he's no longer anywhere near our level, but he did a good job last year when we had our run of 3-1's.
He's done very well at Yeovil by all accounts and their fans are quite taken by him. Nice place to end his career tbf.
Agree with that, one of the mods or admins should change the guys user name.
I have a few suggestions if they're interested. Some aren't suitable for a public forum though.
''Gooner'' could be a good shout.
nah - mod clark is on there too....I'm also a member, but I kind of browse rather than post. Some of the ''Saints are better than anyone'' posts are quite embarrassing tbf.
I do kind of agree with you. I think Mackail-Smith is someone that would work so well with Lambo and has pace - which our front line lacks at the mo IMO.
fwiw i don't think we'll sign either, we'll probably pickup a loan striker/attacking player after the window closes. And i have no issues with that.
Blackpool may not be able to offer him more money, but he has the chance to showcase his talents on the biggest stage for at least 6 months.
At the very worst he's a championship player next season.
With us, he could still be in L1. I'm pretty sure he said in an interview that he'd never join a club in L1 and would only move for a higher league.
I doubt we were ever in with a real chance.
TBF leeds united were hardly world beaters in L1 last year, and their fans didn't rate their defence much at all last year - which is why it's all new this season.
We're as good as they were, maybe slightly stronger depth wise.
