  1. on another note, Aaron Martin has scored to put Sailsbury 1 up. Good for him to get out and have some games again, can imagine him being in and around the squad next season after we lose Perry and Thomas.
  2. get off your high-horse ffs and man up. You give out as much as you get back.
  3. and putting all of that into context - pard's hasn't done a bad job at all, as people keep saying, our position is false because of our -10 and poor start (which was bought about by the -10) start the season now with what we have, we'd be up with norwich based on our form over the games since october.
  4. he never ever answers a sensibly put question, or responds intelligently to a sensibly put post. He will counteract it with pointless childish remarks. he was asked a fair question earlier ''did you think we'd get promotion at the start of the season?'' - he didn't answer it afaik simply because it would ruin his agenda and make his current posts look very silly indeed. there was a quote a few weeks ago, alps said he'd accept 16th - 17th place. So we're now 10th, possibly will finish between 8th-10th and he's moaning. go figure.
  5. you're hardly one to moan. mark 593549359359 of the same post from alpine. good post fwiw sog - it's madness how people cannot see that he's doing a good job. i'm embarrassed sometimes to support a club lumbered with so many morons for supporters.
  6. Actually i reckon we'd be closer to Leeds and co if we had started on 0 pts too. The 10pts was a huge barrier for us to get over and it held us back (also in terms of being able to attract the right sort of players), you saw our performances improve once we got rid of that. i think it's fair to say that with no -10 and the same team as we have now, we would be up there with the Norwich's, leeds and millwalls of the league. Good signs for next season i think.
  7. A new RB - that's the main position that has a question mark over it at the moment for me, We need more cover in CM and we need to add competition for deano - as it's too easy for him to get into the team (that's not a criticism of him, but it's easy for him to take his place for granted atm). Someone of championship quality is a must, Danns/Stock. Obviously we'd need to add cover in CB and probably another extra face in midfield, but i don't think we need urgent surgery - just 1 or 2 quality additions and we'll be fine.
  8. you're so right, most of us can see it but unfortunately every club is littered with total berks that want it yesterday. I think (hope) the majority of the fan base can see that we're heading in the right direction now, only the berk's cannot see the bigger picture.
  9. we will need to win every game 5-0. I don't understand alpine tbh, i thought i'd have a look back through the threats, and he wasn't very active at all after our cup win and i actually think he said he couldn't bring himself to watch it? so here we are, producing a supposedly AWFUL result, and he's on song again posting in every thread. You can't really have a go at people for moaning at you alpine, as it's quite obvious that only the negatives motivate your opinion.
  10. what did you think of the arsenal v barca game? your team did well!
  11. we didn't lose believe it or not, but boy doesn't reading alpines posts make you think we have.
  12. they have the stomach to come back and snatch a draw in the last minute against one of the in-form teams in the league. I can't believe what im reading on here sometimes.
  13. I do get it, it is frustrating but i choose to look at the bigger picture - i don't take snap shots based on one or 2 games, and if you look at the bigger picture, there really isn't too much to worry about. The club is heading emphatically in the right direction. Promotion was always a massive long shot this season, anyone could see that.
  14. there would be some kind of development tribunal fee paid to reading i think, not sure how much that would be.
  15. have a medal. that's all that seems to bother you alps, just to be proven right. it's pretty boring now tbh.
  16. totally agree, but that sort of reasoning is lost on many tbh.
  17. +1 we don't know the full status of the team, who was fit and who wasn't. There are many other variables to team selection and we will never know the full story. We know morgan was injured though, he's a massive miss, so we've had to counteract that slightly in the way we play. TBH some of the people moaning are also the same people that think Morgan is not good enough for us. That kind of nullifies any other opinion they have IMO.
  18. i really think it's over now, well tbh it was over weeks ago - i'm just enjoying the rest of the season now. I think we can get a maximum of 76 points now, and we'll need ''at least'' that to even stand a chance. So we need to win every single game and hope that the teams above us collapse, it really isn't going to happen now. it's still a great to be even talking about having a chance though, none of us expected it!
  19. brighton are a good side in this league, with a good manager. They have good individual players and gave us a good game. why some fans expect us to beat teams, simply because we are a ''bigger'' club bugs the **** out of me. It's not that simple.
  20. It's a good post colin, but unfortunately the world is impatient these days, and i include football chairman in that. We are now expected to win every single game that we play, if we don't there seems to be a mass debate on how anyone else could have done a better job. Silly, but it's the way it is with modern football after spending some money. But the fact is that 2-2, with an equalizer in the last minute, against an in-form Brighton team is actually a pretty decent result. Obviously it doesn't do anything for us this season, but under normal circumstances (i.e a fair season, without deductions) it could be a massive result. At the start of the season a finish of between 8th-10th would have been more than acceptable and if we did a poll back then, i believe 99% of posters would also think the same. We have come a long way in a relatively short period of time. Tin pot trophy or not, we've just won our first silverware for decades - if that doesn't show some sort of progress to people, im not sure what will. enjoy the ride people, nothing comes easy with saints.
  21. scrap that, we need to replace him during the first half if we are to have any chance. alpine is my shout.
  22. clueless! they'll lose 80% of their current first team and will be left to get freebies and loans, building a squad to compete for the bottom half of the championship. if they are challenging for promotion next season i will agree with nickh's mind set - that they've got away with it.
