Decent interview - but you can understand why they are keen to bring in a DoF role. I doubt Cortese really knows the English leagues, or the players we're tracking...so it's hard for him to make good judgments. I'd imagine a DoF will be in place sooner rather than later, he did say that in his first press release tbh.

I find it bizzare that Jackson is not guaranteed football at Colchester? He was their player of the season in the championship.......and wasn't too bad for them last season either. Something else must have gone on behind the scenes, he's good enough to start in most teams in this league. Still - i hope we can benefit from that

Central midfield. Was looking up on him earlier and he wants out because Colchester cannot guarantee him a place in the team. Seems odd, as he was one of their better players last year.

I agree that we need improvements and reinforcements - and pard's will do that, he's not silly enough to expect this current squad to achieve our targets. We're lacking leaders down the spine and as i keep saying!!! pace down the flanks (and up front if im being picky). I think we're 3-4 players and 3-4 months from being a real force in this league.

Interesting shout TBH - but i don't think it solves our real problem. I bet you that Saga will 90% of the time cut inside if he was played on the right...and he's not exactly the quickest. We need an urgent injection of pace in this team (on the right in particular )...and i hope pard's can see that.

Can't agree with that Robbie. Our team is good enough to stay up - but it's not yet good enough to be competitive enough to challenge in the top end. Davis/Harding/Lambert/Morgan/Murts/Rasiak Thomas (maybe) - would walk into 90% of teams in this league...and im sure Gillet/Saga/Bart would make the starting line up in most... All we are lacking at the moment is a blend, the right blend. I'd agree and say that we need to drop Adam at the moment and bring him back into a confident team. If we bring in one of the midfielders and defenders we've been linked with...and add some width on the flanks, then we'll be able to challenge. We're not league 2 quality though.....we walked over Northampton without breaking sweat....

When we were in the premiership? Maybe - yes. We're not - forget those days, long gone and may never come back. We're a lower league team now and the sooner some of our fans start to realise that..the sooner we can start moving in the right direction again. Some of the comments on here from people saying ''how can we loose to **** like Huddersfield?'' is completely misguided IMO. - and they're completely out of touch.

Thomas is ok -but he needs someone dominating next to him. Jaidi would be perfect. Wotton needs to get shot ASAP - part of last seasons disaster and will be part of this seasons disaster if he is not replaced with someone of equal experience...but with a bit of ability. Pace down the flanks is also a priority, playing it narrow will get us no where in this division. Leicester walked this league because they had pace down the flanks and had Steve Howard up top to stick it in. We've got the steve howard type...now all we need is the width and the ''Oakley'' figure.
