Brighton pushing to sign Paddy McNair from Sunderland (why...?). £3.5m rejected. Apparently Sunderland want closer to £10m+ Football is done. -
Which I think we all knew at the time was club spiel, distributed to their favourite journos to try and appease the fans. I remember the chatter when we sold VVD. We wanted Mawson, Promes, Wallcott, Tosun to name but a few - those names were also linked to our favoured journos. The fact is that we ended up splurging £20m on someone not suited to us what so ever.

About as ITK as my left nostril.

Nope.

It's all about to come crashing down for Chelsea, imo. -
Contracts aren't worth the paper they're written on, as we're all too aware. If Madrid want him, they'll get him. It's only allowed Spurs to ask for silly £££ really.
-
Wenger to Madrid anyone...? That would wind the gunners up.
-
I bet Spurs fans are a bit nervous right now...

I personally think he's the wrong sort of player they need. They need pace in attacking midfield, they're too pedestrian. I don't think Arnautovic is what I'd call quick.... Bale would be perfect for them if they're after an attacking midfielder type. -

It is crazy really. They paid £10m for him, he became a backup player and then surplus. Goes out on loan to the NPC. And is now worth more than they paid for him. They'll be laughing. -
He's not an appaling footballer, just pretty average. I wouldn't be against losing him and getting a fresh replacement in there. If this is the standard of player Arsenal are now looking at then their fans best start to reassses their expectations.
-
wtf is it with our media. We destroy players in the buildup to every world cup or euro, then the same media ***** and complain and demand a full grassroots enquiry when we fail. The media are scum.
-
Ramos is absolutely dirty as ****, bit of a scum player really. Would have annoyed me if he'd done the same to one of our players. But as with anything connected with Liverpool, they're going OTT about it and attributing everything that happened to this actions. At the end of the day, you're not going to win the CL with Jordan Henderson crabbing around in midfield, Salah or no Salah. And you're also not going to win the CL if your goalkeeper throws it in the net, twice. So whilst I can understand why they are aggrieved by Ramos, that was certainly not the reason they lost and they need to forget it

It was already agreed for this summer, no? *cough*
-
And he has said something equally as off script.... ''I've enjoyed Real Madird. I'll speak to the fans in a few days''
-
Love the fact that it was Bale who put them out. Made in Southampton.
-
Lallana looking proper out of his depth here.
-
That's only pretty poor if you expect us to have Poch, Pep or Klopp. The fact is that his record is pretty much tied in with the natrual position of our club.
-
But it's flawed, as the big clubs will get bigger and the gap will get larger. The 'big' clubs have had previous backing and exposure to have a big following, so commercially they can spend lots and lots of money and continue to get bigger. Whereas ourselves are now restricted to having to take baby steps to grow our revenue whilst slipping further away from the pack. There's nothing fair about it in my eyes, unless you're a big club fan and want it to stay a 'super league'.
-
Never in doubt................ Right, now onto the next important tasks! and is it just me, or did anyone find it odd there was no chat from Les in that statement...?
-
I don't think he's got the strength or pace to play there. He looked good with a bunch of kids, but put him up against proper athletes who are full of power and pace and he just gets eaten up.
-
He wasn't too bad last season, I'm still unsure of his best role though. He's not strong enough to play CM, we're often over-run when he plays in there. Ditto DM. He's not silky enough or quick enough to play behind the striker in an AMC role. He's not quick enough to play as a right winger, he's painfully slow in fact. So, although he has good attributes (good crosser, good passer, good control) these are outweighed by his lack of pace and strength. Where on earth can you play him to make the most of his strenghts, but lessen the exposure of his weaknesses?
-
He's not the grand master some are perciving him to be. although he has a large impact on football matters, his role is overseen by Ralph/KL etc. They are the people who would have offered him any new contract.
