  1. Has there ever been a player so short of confidence as Redmond?
  2. Main concern with that line up is we've got no one who can tackle in midfield, might be good on the break though
  3. To be honest my only hope for tonight is we get to play the Everton that turned up for the 0-2 home defeats against Newcastle and Fulham recently. Ralph must have studied those games , both teams had some luck so we'll need that as well as taking our chances.
  4. I went to a few Swindon games that season, he was one of their best players in what was considered a good season by their standards. I remember that day, we went to Man City away, services were packed with Preston going the other way to Wembley. Anyway none of that suggests he's good enough to play that position in the Premier league, but he's a player we can use for his experience at this level. If Jankewitz plays I really hope he takes his chance this time, he won't get a better opportunity for a run of games now Romeu is out for the season, having put a transfer request in his agent is probably trying to negotiate a move elsewhere anyway.
  5. I agree, Sheff Utd is the big one, chance to change our fortunes and might coincide with Diallo, KWP being back. They were discussing this week's fixtures on tv and I noticed Sheff Utd play Liverpool on Sunday night, Villa on Wednesday evening then us on Saturday, tough week for them.
  6. Please don't tell me the 'twice' is last 5 mins home to Shrewsbury and the 2 mins at Old Trafford 🙄 I'm not against him playing, but I've watched u23s a few times and he hasn't really stood out. Maybe you're just anti Stephens rather than pro Jankewitz. Must have something about him but personally I'd trust Stephens more myself.
  7. How many times have you seen him play?
  8. I think he'd be decent in a limited role to be honest, he'll win some aerial battles and 50/50s and his mistakes won't be as exposed as when he's the last line of defence. Worth a try anyway.

    Injury Watch

Agree it's turning into a nightmare for us. Desperate for Diallo and KWP to get fit and stay fit for the run in. With the relaxation of lockdown hopefully that provides an opportunity to get more recovery facilities open at Staplewood and staff to assist. Monday is a write off, it's following week at Sheff Utd we need to dig in for the 3 points.
  10. We are handicapped on our wage bill having so many duds still to pay , not entirely Les fault though. Hopefully results go in our favour this weekend. Zaha out for Palace, I fancy Fulham to get at least a point there.
  11. Have just watched Ralph's pre match press conference and I've never been more convinced we will lose this game, Ralph looks like he has no confidence whatsoever and shrugged his shoulders talking about needing to play kids in a Premier league game. 3-0 to Everton. Definitely need 5 at the back as they'll get no protection from Midfield.
  12. Not a bad insurance policy. Can't believe this is already our 9th season back in the top flight, scary to think how much money has washed through the business in that time, we've only really been close to the drop a couple of those years despite the perception we've been poor for a while now.
  13. Some good points, I watched all those games, in fact I've seen Everton lose at home to West Ham, Newcastle and Fulham recently and failed to score in all three games, the away side defended deep and hit them on the break. Have we got the pace and speed of thought to counter attack in the same way?
  14. 1997 Kevin Davies wonder goal. 15 league visits in a row since without a win. I've seen us on the wrong end of some heavy defeats there, even when they've been shite we've not had enough to win.
  15. Can't see it without Romeu and Diallo. Will need a back 3 with wing backs as defence won't get much protection from midfield. For some reason Everton play us Monday night and West Brom Thursday night, not sure if that helps us.
  16. I hate Everton I hate playing Everton at Goodison. Are there any other clubs with a run without a win at a ground as long as ours? (Can't count the league cup penalty shootout) Depressing times.
  17. Do you still feel the same a few games on? For me survival will come down to whether Fulham can lose momentum, at the moment they've got real belief (and a better goal difference than us) , I still see them as a threat.
  18. 🤣 he wanted more money when we were top of the league
  19. 1 win in 13. If that's not relegation form I don't know what it.
  20. I'd hoped there would be some limited numbers back in April, allowing a few to attend the semi final at Wembley if we make it. Usual disappointment from these announcements and no doubt goal posts will be shifted again when they discover a 'New variant ' We've been locked down to "protect the NHS" and most vulnerable, they've had the jab now but still we are given crumbs of liberty by the govt. It would certainly seem from this timeline there will be no football for us for until August , will be 17 months then since I and many others have last been to St Mary's ffs.
  21. That was a ridiculous game last night, Roy Hodgson looked embarrassed to win it at the end, Brighton should have been out of sight. I can see Palace losing to Fulham at the weekend now and Brighton winning against West Brom.
  22. Spurs fans I know are getting worried , paying Bale a fortune, huge amounts owed on stadium repayments (they took a covid loan from bank of England to help that) , wouldn't surprise me if Spurs get through a couple more rounds of Europa league before going out in the 1/4s, lose league cup final to Man City, and end up with another trophy-less season and possibly no European football next season, would put a big hole in their finances, they'd have to sell to fund a move for Ings even with a cut price deal. They've got a kinder run of league games coming up but confidence has gone.
  23. Yep of course, I think Sheffield United he was on the bench so that's at least 3 away wins last year without Ings starting, could be a better option having him fresh for the last 30.
  24. Is Kelvin Phillips likely to be out on Tuesday then? Considering we're still missing a number of players and can struggle ourselves with playing twice in 4 days it might not be as open a game as it would have been in different circumstances.
  25. You could still well get your wish, you can see the belief and confidence at Fulham now, so many games left this season with a small points gap to make up. Fulham play Crystal Palace next, another strong chance for them to pick up points, big IF but they could win that and get to 25 points. Bottom 2 are gone now though.
