before wacking any money on i want to make sure they can't play the team that beat Bolton and AFC Wimbledon, i think that side would beat Plymouth who are very poor themselves.
-
i don't understand why all these "trialists" are hanging around turning out for them pre-season, must be offered something decent for them to do that, makes you wonder. hopefully they had to play the U18s tomorrow night, anyone know the odds on a Plymouth win?
-
how did you manage to get tickets for tha price? i'd have gone if it was that, no way was i paying £20 - hopefully saints have learned for future friendlies to lower the prices.
-
expecting a 4 or 5-0 defeat, that is just realistic based on the two sides, at least the pressure is off saints really as no one will be expecting them to get a result there. Not sure if i'm looking forward to watching it, the big one is Wigan the following week to see how we bounce back.
-
if they let in season ticket holders for free i'll definitely go along, would be good to see some of the young players.
-
he was going to be the next Shearer wasn't he!! 89-90 season, Rochdale in the Littlewoods cup, saints did the job winning 5-0 away in the first leg and beat them 3-0 at home in the 2nd with a Banger hatrick! remember him chipping in with a few goals, Newcastle away 5-1 defeat?

I've just been sent this link for ex-saint Nicky Banger's daughter charity. They are raising money to get her an operation to help her to walk. http://sophiasfootsteps.co.uk/ thought i'd put it on here for others to see / donate.

i think Man City is £2.50 on the phone, but free online, that is fair enough, no way can they justify that per ticket for an online purchase, especially if buying lots of tickets with one card transaction.

Confirmation on loyalty points / Man City away tickets
JRM replied to The Kraken's topic in The Saints
sounds like there is a big early surge for Man City tickets, queue at the ground and plenty buying online, will be interesting if they announce how many tickets are sold today. are most people going for the £49 lower tier? -
Anyone worried about getting a ticket for the first home game v Wigan bear in mind the away support won't be much so they'll most probably open block 43 for saints fans.
-
it also doesn't seem clear to me how the priority for away games will go. as one of the selling points for season tickets they put "priority for away tickets" but that might not be the case. if a non season ticket holder goes to Man City away, plus wigan / Man Utd home they would be ahead of other season ticket holders who didn't go to man city for the Arsenal away game based on "points"

I think it is great we have more competiton for away travel, that should give fans more choice and keep prices down like the £20 for man city, bargain. The deal Dan is offering on the forum is a cracking deal.
-
Plus that isn't the number "sold" other than those who moved they held back block 3 which is why they were unavailable. Not much availablity in Northam
-
can anyone see how many we have sold now? i tried to login but password doesn't seem to work anymore?
-
also Spurs is a sunday (not on TV) so might not be as popular. think they will only link for a couple of games , Man Utd and Liverpool, maybe Arsenal and Chelsea.
-
i think they will do well out of linking the wigan game, people will want to do that with it being the 1st game at home back in the top flight, and will buy them early to take advantage of linking it. i can't see many Wigan coming down for it, 600 at most, so hopefully we'll sell out and open up extra blocks of the northam
-
if you have time go through per match adding up cost for Notham to compare to season ticket, that will be interesting to see what the saving is.
-
Priority for Man Utd if you go to Wigan, that is fair as well i think, £68 for both game behind the goals, could be worse.

Man City Away Tickets-When Are They On Sale For Season Ticket Holders...!?!
JRM replied to dannysfc's topic in The Saints
i agree there will be tickets that make it on sale for just season ticket holders, but they will sell out almost straight away. i predict there will be a long thread on here of people looking for spares for Arsenal -
i think it is a bit of a dodgy rule that the minimum allocation has to be guaranteed by the visiting club for sale, i wonder if they will sell the lower tier first or give fans the option. i went there with fulham a couple of years ago on a sunday, in 2009, game on tv fulham took about 200 fans, away cost £19.50 and you could pay on the day!!
-
So we have the minimum, not the maximum, and the club shouldn't be at risk for any not sold. Also how does the loyalty system work? It's seems season ticket holders get their points as the season goes on, so a non season ticket holder could be ahead of them by doing away games?
-
plus itchen block 3 hasn't sold out, they just haven't put them on sale, so that corner is looking a bit sparse that will be bolstered on match days by club comp tickets, for some reason the club always ruin the potential of that corner for atmosphere.

I've been travelling by train to matches for years and southampton central is absolutely fine. What is wrong with people who can't do a brisk 15min walk? The fact you can get back to London / woking / guildford / reading / Basingstoke easily from night games shows that. What purpose would a stop outside the ground have? Perhaps the best investment would be better bus services from around the region to the ground, possibly from Andover / Romsey.
