i thought he had retired years ago, fair play, thought he was a good keeper for us
-
it won't be for a couple of weeks, to sell out we'd have to shift a lot of tickets for the Doncaster game as well , i reckon there will still be a couple of thousand left after that that will be sold unlinked. Keep an eye out to see if any update on sales between now and Doncaster
-
considering quite a few have already booked up for the weekend it is fair to say i'll go mad if it is moved to the monday. 6 weeks to go this weekend, how close will they leave it to announce i wonder. considering advance railfares go on sale 12 weeks in advance they should not be allowed to move games after that date.

i heard some people behind me discussing this game on saturday and it is scary how many seem to assume we just need to turn up to beat them on April 7th, forget the league position i am sure they will give us a tough match.

I have supported saints for most of my life but it has been a difficult journey, I was born into a remote aboriginal tribe in the deepest darkest Australian outback where the game of football is yet to reach. One day out hunting we stumbled across a farm where I saw two boys kicking a ball, they were wearing shiny red and white shirts and told me about a special team from England called Southampton FC. and from that moment onwards I knew my destiny was to follow the greatest team on the planet, I made my plan and became a stowaway on a ship with nothing more than my belongings and an apple to clean my teeth with, I scavenged for food and after many days and nights we arrived at our destination at the Port of Southampton. I made my way to the place of pilgrimage at the The Dell and broke into the club shop stealing the whole kit, tracksuit, and a managers coat as worn by Alan Ball, a cracker that was made by PONY. I used to stand on the Milton Road terrace, but occasionally treat myself to a seat in the Upper West , Milton wing, good seats they were, the fans really knew how to get behind the team banging their feet on the floorboards when oh when the saints went around the ground. my favourite player was Nicky Banger . I now work as a milkman (you might recognise my float, it has a sticker on the back that says “don’t follow me, follow the saints”) and spend most of my days sipping lager in the Shirley high street weatherspoons.

that is what i was thinking, they should post on here, early, and try to encourage those fans who can't get the train to book up, some of the away games coming up like Peterborough and Middlesboro are perfect for unofficial coaches.

2011/12 signed shirt by the current squad for sale
JRM replied to JuggaloSaint's topic in The Saints
Fair play, that should prove very popular and raise a lot of money for a great charity, good luck to you running it. -
yeah no way, the upper tier is about 2.5k , maybe we've got another 750 dispersed around the ground in little pockets to surprise the Millwall fans with when we score
-
ha what a random old video that is, some great hair cuts and jackets on display!
-
so they took 1,340 to Reading and yet their fans always seem to be commented on in the media as if they are something special. we took 4,203 to Reading (which was a late KO on TV) which was sold out , we could have taken more , yet they still go on about how amazing their support is.

St Marys was like a morgue for large parts of the game last night, 23,000 people sat in complete and utter silence other than the Northam at times, and the Itchen block 4, i was in the chapel where i sit quite a bit and it was very very quiet, i also sit in Kingsland block 33 sometimes and don't see much singng, just a few clapping along but generally more interested in getting really angry at a bad decision by a linesman.

f*ck sake they are useless, i bought for Ipswich and Barnsley and got a Cov one at the same time, if i knew it was only for one i would have got a spare ticket off a mate for last night. The ticket office / club communication are rubbish.
-
it is for one reason only, maximise the revenue from the ticket tax, they have been using such tactics for away ticket sales for quite a while now, ensuring fans who don't live near St Mary's call up and wack a tasty £3 profit on top of the ticket sale
-
i reckon most saints who come by train will drink around waterloo then go from waterloo east.
-
700 odd Ipswich i reckon, total attendance 24,850 we've not exactly been getting huge crowds recently and have another game on saturday
-
Yep. L has just gone down there to get my ticket for tonight and bumped into someone who wanted to buy skates (having had a mate pass on a message they were on sale), the way the chap at the ticket office explained it the communication is confusing, it was a couple of days for season ticket holders to buy extra when also buying an extra for Doncaster, that was for sunday / Monday. Now nothing until next week!

i agree, just saying what is Reed's job and where do his responsibilities overlap with Adkins? all the signs are they are a very good partnership so far. One of the things i like about Adkins is he isn't one of those big egos who seems to need to throw his weight around, just good positive leadership of the team.
-
Not at all, it was mentioned when Pardew left that those who knew some of the politics of the training ground that Reed and Pardew were not seeing eye to eye. Clearly they have to work closely together in such roles, but who holds the trump card? does Adkins follow Reed's suggestions ?
-
This is excellent news, the initial allocation was the upper tier, so these 1000 must be lower, it might be all we get if they keep the front couple of rows empty and the blocks at each end as segregation, Millwall aren’t used to having away fans that close to them at The Den. Still just over 3000 should be a top turnout and atmosphere. The away fans train back to London Bridge after the game will be packed.
-
i think Les Reed would certainly have too much influence if we had a different type of manager ( aka Pardew) Adkins clearly doesn't mind sharing responsibilites and having potential interference from other departments.
-
My swindon mate went on saturday and said Holmes was superb and their right back just couldn't cope with him, if he isn't good enough for the championship he sounds like he is far too good for league two. good luck to him. as for Puncheon he has been better since return but no where near "brilliant" or one of our "best" players
-
we had about the same number of tickets for Brighton that sold out in 6 hours! these have been on sale for a week now would have thought season ticket holders would have snapped them up for a spring day up in London, visit HMS Belfast and the London Dungeon at London Bridge pre-match.
-
that is pretty shocking, hope they get the support of the FSF and Leeds are made to back down, it is the sort of thing that could happen here, remember the club refused Illingsworth a season ticket for disagreeing with them and voicing his opinion, classic case of big egos at football clubs acting in a petty and childish manner. Haven't got much time for Leeds fans from my experience of them over the years, but i wish them well in their battle with Bates, very pleased i am not spending £36 of my hard earned on it this weekend.
-
if they really were about to go completely out of business than a pitch invasion wouldn't be that surprising, last time they'd play us for a generation (if AFC Skates follow wimbledon could be back in the league in 10 years) and they'd want to make a point, get the match abandoned and playing up at st marys would be the sort of thing they'd do
-
obviously wasn't happy with the downfall of the club, but i quite liked Rupert as a character , he'll always be remembered fondly for pulling out that letter in praise of himself at the fans forum!
