Strange player is Bednarek, feels like he's been here a while now but has never really built much popularity amongst the fans, probably because we've been terrible at the back for many of those seasons. Was a decent buy for £5M but don't think many would miss him if he goes.
-
What's this all about? Bednarek didn't really fancy it? Having a sulk after the sarcastic clapping at the Watford game?

I had a change of scenery down near the family bit , couldn't hear the Itchen north from there, ground was silent for long spells and thousands streaming out when their 3rd went in, certainly not the sort of buzz around the place you used to associate with a huge cup 1/4 final
-
Felt like I was watching a friendly. Crowd were flat, Itchen topping up the tan, we played well in spells but never really looked like winning. Disappointing end to the season.

Got a feeling Adam Armstrong will

What gives you that confidence? For me, if City take their chances we lose no matter which side we put out, just need to them to have an off day and everything to click for us, asking a lot when they have 12 men against our 11.
-
Seeing Leeds and Everton both win in stoppage time last couple of days will feel like a killer blow to the bottom 3, can't see any of them surviving now.
-
Knowing Saints we've arranged for a local Stop Oil protestor to come on between the 60th - 70th min to allow us time to refuel and have a team talk
-
That's my thought, Willy, Stephens and Djenepo put forward for media , makes zero sense to me but I probably don't belong in the modern game. Reward squad players with an appearance in our most important game of the season when they could just as easily be rewarded by a game against Burnley away etc.

At St Mary's as well. Hopefully Chelsea get a long trip next round and have to travel by coach before we play them.
-
Six straight defeats in the league is quite something, bit too early to be on the beach but they have lost that edge that was picking up points with late equalisers, look quite poor now. Title race still interesting at least. Chelsea through which means they'll play champions league 1/4 final either side of playing us.

First Romeu challenge he'll make a meal of it, Dean will already have a card in his hand ready to pounce
-
Not official but a mate of a mate goes home and away with Chelsea reckons 5-600
-
Yes they do. Some details in here for our game https://www.chelseafc.com/en/news/2022/03/14/important-ticketing-update-for-upcoming-chelsea-matches

There will be 500/600 Chelsea at Middlesbrough that were already sold, looks like they'll be put in one block and the remainder of the away allocation will now be sold to home fans, I thought in the fa cup the ticket revenue was supposed to be shared but maybe in this case the FA will withhold it. If this carries on expect the same at St Mary's, Chelsea will have around 600 away season tickets who will get them and we could potentially sell the rest of the Northam to home fans if there was demand.

Burnley and Brighton games re-arranged in April
JRM replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
They are, also the "Sunday timetable" is there for a reason, trains are less regular than on other days. The Brighton example given just shows how these pointless changes impact the match going fan. Brighton didn't need to move, it's not on TV, it's just because they've decided not to have the Burnley game on a normal Tuesday/ Wednesday -

Don't think you travel by train on a Sunday very often. Check out the difference between Southampton to Brighton return on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th you'll get the idea -

Ask any away day regular what they'd prefer, 99% Saturday 3pm, this whole Thursday night bollocks is the Premier league appeasing UEFA and the international TV deals not to clash Premier league with champions league games. Brighton away was going to be a top drink up, St George's day hopefully nice weather day on the ale, now a rubbish Sunday lunchtime , no comparison -
I'm genuinely astounded with this appointment, hate Mike Dean with a passion, Southampton Football Club quite rightly lodged a complaint about him last season after the Villa and Man Utd games and they've kept him away from us for a year, but his performances in our games go back further. What a game to bring him back for, worth a tenner on Saints to receive a red card.

My point was Man City should have won easily, how they didn't convert one of those 18 shots into a goal I'll never know, Palace just had the luck on their side to go with their fight, let's hope we're the same
-
You're kidding me, first time since the 9-0 at Old Trafford?
-
Hats off to Palace, they seem to be Man City's bogey side, 74% possession, 18 shots and a 0-0 draw, City looked very frustrated at the end

https://www.chelseafc.com/en/news/2022/03/14/important-ticketing-update-for-upcoming-chelsea-matches Southampton (a) – Saturday 9 April Supporters on the UK away scheme will have their tickets sent in due course. For the remainder of our allocation, we await further updates from the Government on whether we will be able to sell tickets or not. Supporters who do not have tickets for matches should not attend our stadiums

He probably think it would help a high energy pressing game

Ralph Rabbithutch defended his decision to make several changes as Sorry Saints fell to a heavy defeat against slick City. Rabbithutch said a number of his players are suffering from fatigue due to the recent intense fixture schedule that has now seen his side lose 4 games in a row for the first time this season.
