  1. My white hankie has loads of spunk stains on it. Will it still be ok to use for the Perry Platypus Protest?
  2. Ditching the 4-3-3 is what turned our season around. Les Reed's trips to Barcelona have a different meaning now.
  3. I've been away all week, flew back home this morning. Was well pleased with a point v Chelsea. I freely admit, I was very much in the minority earlier in the season when I thought the club would be best served by replacing Adkins. But, again admit, I was proved wrong. We look a far more solid side now, and have had a decent run in the last dozen or so games. So I am amazed that Cortese has chosen to do this now. I feel extremely sorry for Nigel Adkins. I am now extremely worried about our chances of staying up now, when a few hours earlier I wasn't. I wish Adkins well. I am more than a bit gutted at the moment.
  4. I think Liverpool are interested in another player, Diakite, a defender. Zarate not interested in going to Besiktas, as he wants to play in Spain or England.
  5. Not got much of a scoring record has he.
  6. Don't see why an international should go on trial to a mid-table side like Liverpool anyway. Maybe Rodgers should have given a trial to Allen. He might have noticed he couldn't play a forward pass before paying £15m for him.
  7. Sign Hangeland to play alongside him. Out of contract soon. Astori deal looks similar to the Sneyder one. Club agreed terms with a team he doesn't really want to play for, so will wait for other offers.
  8. He is class in his best position through the middle. He often makes decent runs, demands the ball, but doesn't get it. Just as much a case of others getting used to him, as the other way round. He'll get better and better in my opinion.
  9. Mata's dive was just as bad, but the difference is that Chelsea have about 5 players who dive every week.
  10. Vastly overrated player in my opinion.
  11. Judgement call needed on this at some point in the window then. We might get away with it at Villa, but not having a new centre half in for the Everton game would be suicidal.
  12. A mouth's a mouth......
  13. 'Absolute mercenary', are you sure. Are you in the habit of volunteering to take a pay cut, I'm not. Does that make me a mercenary as well? He would have left ages ago if we were willing to do a deal on his contract. Not his fault.
  14. Broadly, in effect, the January transfer window is basically the last week in January. It's madness.
  15. Cheers for that. I think I'll stick to my gym workouts, I've added some Pilates for core work, and TRX. Might chuck in another CV workout a week as well. Also trying the 5:2 diet. I'm finding the 5 part really easy...
  16. It's not so much the budget that bothers me to be honest. It's the loss of sovereignty and the free for all that is our immigration policy at the moment. The present EU isn't fit for purpose. The euro crisis more than proves that point.
  17. I feel better already, cheers mush!
  18. Thanks for that. Villa is on the 12th.
  19. That is the net by population chart. Distorted, I would say, by our rapidly increasing population. Press the Net contribution button, to show what we actually pay, gives a slightly different picture.
  20. How is insanity going. It it easy to stick to?
  21. What a f*cking boring window. And we go into a 6 pointer on Saturday with a very weakened team. F*cking magic.
  22. If we could do a deal with Brussels that protects our borders from mass immigration, and removes our laws being set by unelected officials in the EU, then I don't think many would really give a toss about staying in. If a satisfactory deal can't be done, then put it to the people. We, the general unwashed, are the ones mostly affected by the main issues. The intelligentsia just sit in their ivory towers totally unaffected, passing judgement.
  23. FWIW, if we stay up, surely Adkins won't deserve the sack. But don't underestimate the tactical nous that Di Matteo displayed by beating Barcelona over 2 legs, and Bayern in their own backyard.
