Benefit of hindsight and all... but this didn't last vey well. Wonder who made the worst appointment, Millwall or Plymouth.
-
Congrats on winning the Nathan Jones Trophy yesterday, probably deserved. I too am hoping we're saving ourselves for the play offs, but not convinced.
-
Or... maybe Rasmus has seen something in him, and he's being fast tracked to be our next manager. (Another useful Masters initiative put together by University of Salford or Worcester no doubt...I'll await his questionnaire on here to find the 'fans views' ahead of his dissertation )
-
Did Semmens think she was part of the deal, or that we were signing her instead?
-
That is equally a perfectly valid point which I accept to some degree although with three games in the week I don't think they'd get too rusty from being rested yesterday. The exception to that in my view anyway is Downes, and I'd like to see RM keeping him under wraps until the plays offs. We want another big three games from him this season so not worth risking v Stoke, or even Leeds.
-
That could be a 'happy ever after' ending for all parties, although unlikely to happen. Having left us in no doubt that you don't think 'Lego' is the manager of your choice, who would you realistically want to see come in ?
-
A disappointing line up certainly, but I can’t criticise Martin for that yesterday given where we are . Giving some of the key players a rest is sound in my view with the play offs coming up, we’d be creating if AA, or Downes picked up an injury in a needless end of season Match. The lack of motivation and organisation among some players does rest with RM and he deserves the flak for that. Hopefully a couple of players have played themselves out of the reckoning for further selection.

Stoke fans were calling for his head a couple of weeks ago.
-
What Leeds need ahead of the play offs is a confidence boosting easy win, scoring a few goals in the process. Wonder who they might be playing next game.
-
Can't wait to see him jog down the touchline, receive the applause from the travelling support, then sit down again when three wingers are introduced to the match after 65 minutes.
-
Really good read to start the day this morning. There has certainly been a fair amount of time in researching and preparing that. Thanks.

Imagine the uproar if Utd appoint Russell in the summer.
-
When we first had Directors of Football in this country it was a more experienced old hand providing guidance to a younger manager ( Lawrie for Bally perhaps, and before that Ted Bates for Lawrie, although he’d probably been horrified at such a title). Now it’s some fucker in a sharp suit, or skinny jeans, after a spell coaching the U12’s, armed with a laptop, dictating to a track suited (manager) head coach. The DoF can play at beng the manager, without facing the flak, that goes with it. If it goes tits up, then sack the head coach. Bring back Sir Clive.

Isn’t this the second member of the scouting team we’ve lost in recent weeks ?
-
Crossed my mind as well, but I think Mowbray was titled Head of Recruitment, which presumably means the scouts such as this bloke report into him. Shame to read of one leaving but with our record over the last couple of seasons I won’t lose any sleep over his departure.
-
Unreliable media reports suggesting Johannson has a £1m release clause. Stoke and Sheff Utd mentioned. If he really likes red and white stripes surely...
-
So if the press stories are to be believed, we've gone from Crocker and Semmens considering Cooper and Howe, to the appointments of Nathan Jones, and Russell in about 18 months. Cooper though doesn't seem to be a match for the skinny jeans, green or herbal tea type of candidate that Rasmus will be looking for.
-
I think the Cooper story was a link with the then director, Matt Crocker, who had worked with him at the FA. So that tenuous connection has now gone.
-
For me the only benefit of keeping RM is the fear of who Rasmus might appoint next.
-
Vardy I hope. In which case he deserves a three match ban for not managing to do it properly.
-
Don’t all managers resort to this though ? Not defending the bloke by any means as I find some of his interviews ( about how brave the guys were … proud of them etc) tedious. But thinking back Adkins trotted out well worn phrases.
-
Any links to this for us exiles ?
-
Warnock for me. I know we’ve only got two games left but with his track record there’s a good chance he’ll keep us up.
-
We were also without Mason Holgate’s contribution tonight.
-
Hopefully Brighton hear that and note it for when DZ leaves them in the summer
