  1. I can't remember how many seasons it is now, probably ever since Koeman left, that I'm left to conclude - hope most of these cunts aren't in a Saints shirt again.
  2. Just read on the BBC site: Redmond is at least consistent. Must be a reworking of the old Lallana/Tadic song there

Certainly interesting, and worth throwing into the mix on forum, but lets not get our hopes up.
  4. Saints fans did a good job at West Ham in 1994 as I recall.
  5. Will Daniel Farquhar-Ings sign a new contact if he's forced to change his name by deed poll ?
  6. Can't stand Vardy after his needless crocking of VVD ahead of the the LC Final, and Rodgers still grates after 2014 although that is wearing thin now. Apart from that don't mind them but am quite envious especially of the sound and ambitious owners they've got. Similar size club although they have pulled ahead of us in the transfer market and ambition. Complete contrast to us under Gao. Thought the same, although them having a GK to pull off two outstanding saves isn't something I'd want to rely on. McCarthy perhaps might have got down to the header, but FF would have been buggered if he couldn't try blocking them with his ankles.
  7. We've no idea how he sees himself (get that in before MLG does), but suspect RH will want to sign players to play where he sees them rather than pandering to their wishes. This appeared the case with Maitland-Niles who wanted a MF role as opposed to MF/RB etc. Personally I don't think either have done enough at Fulham or WBA to suggest they'd offer us anything. If we're looking at a player leaving Chelsea, or on loan with an option, Gallagher seems to have come out of his time at WBA with his reputation improved and doubt he'll get much game time at Chelsea. But also worth remembering Betrand had a poor season at Villa before joining us so if any of them end up at St Mary's we'll give them at least twenty minutes of their first match to win us over before moaning about wasted opportunities and money down the drain (again).

You wouldn't have been able to speak to him in that time, ouija board or seance aside perhaps.

Hope you're right and it works out well but without wishing to pour scorn on your post, sure it was posted in good faith, but there seem a few too many links in that chain to get excited about it.

He died 30years ago. Trouble now that you've revealed that though I will read your posts in a different light, you must have been his inspiration for 'Fred Scuttle'.

    20/21 Kit

Neither involved a change of supplier though (at least as far as I can remember, 2001 seems a long time ago now).
  12. Weren't a lot of options available. There was a point earlier in the season where any U21 who could walk was likely to get on the bench. If they were written off we'd have probably ended up with the U16's making up the bench.
  13. Just a thought but shouldn't our research for the "summer push" have been done already ?
  14. Doesn't say if Cambridge United or Cambridge University, not sure which is the better grounding. Anyway, googled him and it is Cambridge Utd. wonder what the stand out credentials are to recruit from a L2 side albeit one just promoted. That said, he was previously at MK Dons which wasn't a bad starting point for Mitchell. (One of Reed's better appointments). Hope it's an inspired choice
  15. Matter of opinion as to whether he is our best keeper, both are capable of a good save or block one minute and a howler. I'd rather see an upgrade on him/them (but as you'll probably be quick to point out we can't afford it...).
  16. Throw FF into the mix as well ....
  17. Suspect the answer lies within this comment. And if if he rates him, clearly doesn't feel he can rely on him.
  18. I wouldn't read too much into it, at this stage of last season we were in advanced discussions and 'about to sign, before the season ended' the right back from Gronigen (Zeefuik or whatever) but that rumbled on until he eventually got his move to Hertha Berlin. After which we signed KWP.
  19. Shame it has come to an end as it inevitably had to at some point. To the club and his credit it appears to have been done with dignity on both sides. His 'message' seems far more sincere than Nivea's. RB was a better signing than I expected coming after his spell at Villa, and we certainly didn't miss Shaw. We've certainly had our moneys worth over the course of his time with us, although there were also some half-arsed displays ,2017/18 springs to mind, his reckless clearance away at Everton under Hughes with Southgate in the stands possibly cost him a place in the WC squad which taken over the previous couple of years should have been his. Has looked a bit stale at times this season, I expect when we see him playing elsewhere next season he'll look rejuvenated and 10 years younger. Hope we replace wisely though.
  20. I suspect Leicester. Has a connection with Rodgers, and if they're in the CL next season it will give opportunity for game time.
  21. Recall hearing Danny Murphy saying Cedric was a good crosser of the ball ! Not sure that was based on anything factual.
  22. You should start the 'Guided Missile Party'. The proposals on electoral reform will definitely be a vote winner.

    Stu Armstrong

Don't forget "his fairs so fine, and he scores belters all the time...". Has been an excellent signing.

    Danny Ings

Agree. But over the last few years we haven't done the sensible planning thing. Can only hope that's changed.
  25. Could be a recurring theme for them.
