How may more 'last matches' has he got left ?
-
Subs in the 92nd & 93rd minute !! For what purpose ? Disrupt the rthyhm of the game and prevent a Watford third perhaps.
-
But six points and seven places above us. As are West Ham, and Crystal Palace, despite their atrocious starts to the season.
-
Watching the video replays I noticed one of the defenders slipping on his arse as the ball came over, that certainly didn't help. We do seem to have a bit of a problem with fragile CB's, which hasn't been firmly addressed since last January.
-
What changed in between then ? Didn't seem to be any need to make substitutions in the first half.

The club have held contingency meetings about Championship Football
Badger replied to Monk's topic in The Saints
I can't believe (or perhaps don't want to believe) that they haven't discussed something, or sounded out alternatives. It's probably just putting it in place that takes the time (but this is the Les Reed who was relaxed about the Toby signing, and the Koeman contract talks). -
This on a banner with a suitable caption might get some media attention. Recalling the one unfurled v QPR a few seasons ago, perhaps 'If Carlsberg did buffoons to run Football Clubs.'
-
That will be the official line from MP & the club. Although true of course ,it clouds are more serious issues; a clueless manager trying to play defensively, failing to respond to the opposition's change in tactics, and poor timing and choices in substitutions. My anger with today's result lays more with MP , and of course Les with his ever increasing indecision and buffoonery, than the ref. The referee and linesman made the wrong decision in a split second. Reed has been off the mark since the Leicester game (at the very latest) in not realising MP is out of his depth and acting on it.
-
... or not given against them in the first place ?
-
I suppose there is a chance that being rejected by our targets might be the impetus needed for Les & Ralph to make the change needed. Although the speed with which they work will probably mean the new manager coming in on January 27th with only a few days left.
-
It should have been obvious to a complete idiot that our slide would make us an even less attractive option than before. But not a matter for concern with Les,or the Lesbians. Agreed. And if not sacked immediately then it should have set the wheels in motion to get one appointed to maximise the January window.
-
Probably. Even if we were looking at players you suspect Les will be focusing on one deal at a time. Before moving on to the next name on the list for that position.
-
Having started the window with a reported £75m to be spent, and names such as Giroud, Walcott, Sturridge being touted in the press, I expect we'll get to the last week in January when the OS and press will trot out that Les is trying to get one or two deals over the line...
-
Think we missed the boat with him when hwe left Wolfsburg. Last article I read said he now had a 35mEuro clause in his contract.
-
Those who want MP to remain, in no particular order: Les Reed Mrs Pellegrino Redmond - (he's good for the appearance bonus)...
-
Theo or his agent clearly don't understand this 'looking to move away' , seeking a return to 'his spiirtual home' malarky. Should have realised a sulk, and possibly a refusal to play today is what was called for. Yes, but unfortunately Les trying to achieve this is one reason why we end up with Redmond instead.
-
The starting line up suggested to me that we were playing a back three with Bednarek on the right of this rather than playing as an out and out RB. I wasn't too pleased to see this after the Wolves fiasco and stronger opposition would probably torn us to shreds. Didn't think he did too badly tbh, couple of notable good challenges but didn't offer a lot going forward .Think he'd benefit from a loan to a Championship club for game time.

Always struck me that Hughes was happy to be on the Saints payroll but seldom committed on the pitch. Rumour at the time was that he, Palmer & one other (either Hurst or Ripley) who had come to us as the 'Big I Am's..' were responsible for a rift in the dressing room and poor morale for much of his first season with us. Would not want Hughes back at Saints.
-
Agreed. All the more reason why we should make the right selection when we have to, rather than just whose available. Of course the reverse of thsi is if we do get someone who fits and then performs we can't keep him.
-
Before the game we noticed a few of he players looked a little disinterested during the warm ups, Gabbiadini for one. Redmond came out of the tunnel to warm up, and he looked to the supporters expecting some applause, looking unimpressed when none came his way. At the end of the match leaving the field he was walking a couple of paces near Gabbiadini whose name was being chanted. Again NR just seemed to look straight at the tunnel or to the ground offering no acknowledgement to the fans in return.
-
I didn't hear any booing of Pellegrino or chanting towards him during the match other than expressing bemusement at the substitutions for taking PEH & Bouffal off, and bringing Redmond on, then the delay in taking the obviously knackered Long off for Gabbiadini. Perhaps this is more of a reflection of the modern era cyber type supporter though who vent their ire on mongboards rather than on the terraces and in the stands. Remember the protests against Branfoot, and even poor old Chris Nicholl.... tell that to kids today and they won't believe you...

Watched the youtube clip of Carrillo. This normally contains a montage in which even Steve De Ridder can be made to look outstanding, but the compilation for Carrillo shows nothing outstanding worth considering. He scored a couple of goals that you'd expect even Long or Rodriguez couldn't miss. And if Pellegrino is as good as spotting a player as he is setting the team up then you know this is well worth avoiding.

I've gone with justpark. https://www.justpark.com/ Wouldn't normally be keen especially in London, but Fulham is a pretty reasonable area. Found a driveway to park on for £10.

Down with Pelgrano We're going down with Pelgrano.. Is that sufficiently bad taste ?

Fly pasts with trailing banners are a bit 2005. Has anyone tried an open letter ? As for other suggestions - the red cards were pretty effective for Branfoot, but that was over 25 years ago.
