  1. A few of comments seen on their forum: & Someone has picked up on the Les - strategy: Although not everyone is coping with this graciously: last post incidentally from Glasgowstokie !
  2. A name from the past in this article: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40843317 Alexander Buttner
  3. Interesting comments. Or another possibility is that we'll hold onto VVD until late in the window to limit the time Cedric and Bertrand have to make their exits. But if they're going to be angling for a move at some stage it suggests Summer 2018 is likely to be on a par with 2014, also after a World Cup, with several looking to exit at the same time. The Eric Black bit is the polarised opposite of what was supposed to be 'coming out of the club' last year though.
  4. If we do sign him, can we have a poll on here to create a shortlist of players for him to punch in the nuts ?
  5. Might improve the half time entertainment that's for sure.
  6. I'm sure VVD going the other way might sweeten them though, IF they are interested in him that is.
  7. We didn't even appear to be in the race though, no mention of us at all. Les & Jock were still mulling over Puel at the time.
  8. Wonder if he'll ever watch a re-run of Rodriguez penalty incident at Villa, and his interview afterwards.
  9. Any inside info you can share re the new regime, and the VVD situation?
  10. An ageing Tommy Forecast then, a player whose best claim to fame was as a 'party animal'.

    Les Reed

Perception from the outside is that Red has become a ditherer, inactive in the transfer market, and a fumbler of things. The only defence I can think of is that he is hamstrung by internal matters, financial constraints or parameters laid down to him, in particular whilst the club appears to be in a state of flux pending Kat's selling. For all those calling for Reed to go, just think he might be replaced by promoting Ross Wilson, who has no particular track record at all.
  12. ...and pepper the goal with shots ... perhaps fumblefingers will be our salvation afterall...
  13. I had read something to the effect over the weekend, which is why I raised the question in case SKD had some further news. But as Klopp might be aware it is difficult tokeep a player once his heas is turned.
  14. Staggering that we are prepared to go into a season with only those options for GK - Fraser, the permanently injured Mc Carthy, and the bloke who has barely played in the last 15 years.
  15. Doesn't explain why Lazio would sell him though despite the recent story of a training ground bust up, the money talked of isn't too great unless they are strapped for cash.
  16. Is it almost certain that Coutinho will leave though ? Can't help but think that having publicly failed to sign Keita, if they also lose Coutinho then signing VVD at whatever the cost is suddenly the best face saving option for them.
  17. Wouldn't be bothered about VVD p!sssing off for £70m*if we could bring in a quality replacement such as Hoedt or Christensen from Chelsea for a fraction of the fee, and have some over for a couple of other decent recruits. *but not to Liverpool.
  18. About 18m Euros from recollection.
  19. Saw this on the BBC Gossip page: Can't see us buying at that sort of price.
  20. Subject to Cedric, and VVD coming back into the fold I suspect you could be correct. There are a few known weaknesses though, MF - apar from Romeu - looks weak, and I'm not convinced we can afford the luxury of both Tadic and Boufal on the pitch at the same time. Then of course, there's the GK issue - FF is questionable, and not sure we should rely on the other two as back up.
  21. Exactly. If Roma really wanted to take the p!ss they'd put up a picture of Dani Osvaldo and ask Sibley, "remind us, how much did you pay us for him ?"
  22. Care to explain ???
  23. At 29 you would have expected him to have mastered that, especially as an international.
