  1. Does that qualify as a "solid back" ?

    Big Sam

Until he's bored at home in about late October when a relegation threatened team offer him a mega bounty to keep them up (just hope its not us). Remember Warnock going to Palace in 2007 saying it would be his last job in football !

    Puel out

Come on,this is unfair. Puel has conducted himself in a dignified manner and does not deserve the abuse, or the clown the other day saying he was hoping he'd get hit on the head with the ball again. No matter what our criticisms of his teams and performances he deserves better than this.
  4. remember NA : "..quietly, behind closed doors...".
  5. Perhaps we just have to agree to disagree then. Christopher Lee was as you say excellent, a good booming Bond theme blasting out of Lulu's lungs as well. Agree that JW Pepper was crap, and to a lesser degree Nik Nak , although both were the thin end of a wedge for things getting worse , Jaws for example.
  6. Think that ship has well and truly sailed
  7. Another iconic figure from a 1960's childhood gone. Always think of him in the Simon Templar role of The Saint. After his second Bond film the role went downhill. RIP.
  8. Just hope UA see it that way rather than wanting to feature more prominently.

    Puel out

The 'compromise' , for face saving purposes, might be for Black and backroom to go, but Puel staying put. Bit of a cop out if it is.
  10. Includes this: A friendship with Gao's daughter, Nelly. Is this significant or just idle tittle-tattle ? Discuss.
  11. Shame if Schmidt is not one of those we are at least talking to.
  12. No. Questionable in 2001. Not even up for discussion now.
  13. Were either at the match today ?
  14. I'll have to bow to your greater knowledge...
  15. Can't argue with that, no. But are you confident going into next season ?
  16. Can't wait for Reed's summer exclusive interview telling us he's not worried, is relaxed about things, and everything in the garden is rosy. No doubt lapped up by the lesbians, before another exodus of players, and an early July appointment of a new manager.
  17. Not by anyone or anywhere of note, but he was offered it in the summer of 2001 but declined it as Rupert wouldn't agree his backroom team coming.
  18. Poor home form through the season, coupled with the recent goal drought I think they would. On the face of it our season overall has not been bad but I don't think many have confidence in the manager for next season. I do feel sorry for CP though who has not been helped by Reed's transfer dealings, and of course injuries, but you might expect a better showing over the last few weeks.
  19. Story of much of our season though...
  20. Don't worry, we bought Gazzaniga instead. (..and we've still got Fraser... )

Hoping that's not our only line of enquiry , there are better options likely to be available in the summer. So are we expecting Reed to tell Bertrand and VVD for example, right he's gone now so we're not selling you and presumably your happy to stay ? As for trusting Reed's judgement... CP was of course his appointment, but as you say we should have our research done and know who we want to speak to which should extend beyond a list of one UK based foreign manager.
  22. Newcastle have retained full stripes on the back of their shirt: http://www.footballshirtculture.com/17/18-Kits/newcastle-united-2017-18-puma-home-kit.html
  23. Most worrying thing in that article is the caption under a photograph of Ralph and Puel together. Seriously wonder if Reed can be relied upon to make this decision for the right reasons.
