  1. Question is though, how has he fallen so far over the last two seasons under MP and Hughes ? Speaks volumes for the coaching.
  2. Agreed. Doesn't give you confidence of getting it right does it? Someone else made a comparison with Blackburn's owners, The Venkys, SISU also spring to mind. Unfortunately the Marcus Liebherrs, Vichai at Leicester type of owners are few and far between.
  3. Who will pick their replacement ?
  4. Good idea but will an up and coming manager want to take the risk of joining us in our current state and have a possible relegation on his CV so soon? Potter now at Swansea might have done, who else is out there, not too sure but as Reed and Wilson thought MP II matched this profile it does not inspire confidence. Would like to think we might have put feelers out to Jardim and Hasenhuttl but doubt it. In any case they'll no doubt be looking for something better.
  5. Long term to us now means November - end of season.

    Hughes OUT

Les will do what Les does best, dither, dither, and dither again, until March. Perhaps throw in a catastrophic signing in January that Wilson is currently working on.
  7. Clearly a career that is nosediving fast so as he's out of work looks like a perfect Reed appointment.
  8. Who's that c^nt ?
  9. How's the Maguire-Beckenbauer hybrid doing today alongside him ?
  10. I'll accept 6. But fear a return to the 1970's/early 80's when we'd have a 7 or 8 against us from time to time.
  11. He's hoping to sign Redmond at a cut price deal in January. Obvious.
  12. Our most consistent player over the last 12 minutes. Must be worth a massive pay rise and long term contract to keep him at the club, eh Les ?
  13. Comeback's getting closer. Bring on the nuns.
  14. JWP linked in this article with RB Leipzig (where Paul Mitchell is head of scouting). https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2018/11/02/do-report-southampton-midfielder-james-ward-prowse-could-leave-f/
  15. I'm not a great fan of Redmond by any means but he does offer us some pace, not a particular strength of JWP. Question is, can we afford the luxury of a player who offers something from deadballs, but very little else.
  16. Two years ago some were declaring him a better prospect then the then much hyped Maguire at Hull (having watched them in the same match at St Mary's), and a more outlandish claim was that he brought the ball out of defence in a style not seen since Beckenbauer. Perhaps after a brief lull he's rediscovered his potential !

    Hughes OUT

In a perfect world you would hope and expect a self proclaimed expert who has written coaching manuels, some endorsed by the Football Association, to notice this sort of thing quickly and act upon it. But not Bunsen. Perhaps the FA endorsement is not from the Football Association.
  18. Trouble is though that Cardiff, Huddersfield and Fulham have all on occasion shown a bit of spirit and fight, qualities beyond most of our gutless crew, certainly for all of them to show it in the same match. Fulham will no doubt find the form they've been lacking against us late November, possibly with a new manager. Cardiff will see the home fixture in December as a "must win" and be up for it.
  19. let's wait until they face a proper striker, or better team before considering this. Bournemouth on an off day, and Newcastle, possibly the worst strike force apart from our own, is no measure.
  20. I was hoping most of them would f^ck off in the summer, but the problem is that most are so poor no other bast^rd will buy them... we couldn't even give Forster away by paying a large% of his wages. Nice one Les, cretin.

    Hughes OUT

The only argument to keep Hughes on is that it's unlikely Reed will make a better choice, three in a row now have either shown to be duds or a poor fit for Saints. Or.. Jardim... but neither experienced in England, never mind a relegation scrap here. They'd inherit the current shambles, a squad with a toothless goalshy attack etc. Doubt we have the ambition to attract either, or that Reed has the initiative to bring either in, both of whom will probably have more attractive offers.
  22. Don't wish him any harm, hope he makes a recovery. It still rankles how he left us, as we developed well under him.Have to remember though he ballsed his own career by doing so when he did, and his stock never really recovered.
  23. Twenty-two shots - nil goals, perhaps the manager can't be held accountable ... but it's week after week... and he can be accountable for the continued perseverance with Austin who has the mobility and finesse of a carthorse.. and Shame Long... why ? Summary: Taxi for Hughes Firing squad at dawn for both Les, and Wilson, for their continued inept recruitment Mr Gao, please sell us to someone with ambition and drive None of which will happen of course.

    Shane Long

Long or Austin... bit like having to choose between gonorrhea or syphilis as your preferred dose of clap... Neither offer what we need to be honest. I thought Long was overpriced at £12m when he arrived., and that was as a squad player to provide extra an extra option. Fast forward four years and he's an "essential" part of the squad. Another illustration of how we've regressed.
  25. Often wondered what The Glitter Band reformed as.
