And just over three years ago we lost 1-0 at home to Plymouth in a game Lambert looked overweight and out of condition. Trotman was playing for Plymouth in L2 yesterday at Cheltenham. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23577787 Small world !

Prediction: FIRST PREM MANAGER TO GET THE SACK?
Badger replied to Glasgow_Saint's topic in The Saints
Di Canio is a good bet , if things don't get off to a good start then October Hughes - can't stand him but I expect the Stoke board will give him time as he is their recent appointment (perhaps December) Jol - 3points today will keep Fulham in a half decent position for a few weeks, so he too might be an October bet, although I think the new owner may want a change. Jol is probably my shout. I do wonder about Pelligrini at City if it does not fall into place quickly, and if we are slumping end Oct then Pochettino may need to look over his shoulder. -
Impressive fact.

Please don't mention Fox today.
-
Just a thought but I think the last time we beat WBA on the opening day in 1975 we went on to win the FA Cup.

Admire your faith in Mayuka - hope you're right. CB situation - sorry not convinced we're strong enough in that department but time will tell.
-
I suspect that might just be wishful thinking on your part to be honest.
-
Seeing the names Mayuka and Hooiveld named on the bench does emphasise the lack in depth of the squad.
-
I expect Ramirez is out due to having just come back from a friendly in Japan as much as anything else.
-
Disappointed that I couldn't get a ticket for this. When the fixtures first came out I thought this was a good bet for an away win, but did expect a couple more decent signings - Banega in particular was being talked about at the time - but not so confident now to be honest !

Don't suppose he'll be living on a paupers wage in Spain either.

Yes, I remember those days, On The Ball presented by Brian Moore. Saint & Greavsie was good for the first month, then it became self parodying, in the days when "football (was) is a funny old game"... They soon became too much like the two old duffers on the Muppet Show.

Agree with you on both points. KK, for that reason alone he merits his place on our 'wall of fame' at the top of this page ! Osvaldo, IF he signs then you wonder if his heart is really in it, and the effect in the dressing room.

Have you ever been this excited about a season kick off?
Badger replied to chocco boxo's topic in The Saints
perhaps I misunderstood it, but I thought the managerial change in January 2013 was the 'upgrade' to take us to the "next level". -

Now that was excitement, and expectation. And realisation that Lawrie had pulled off a masterstroke, the kind of which Cortese with all the millions he can muster from the Trust will never come close to. I remember a sun drenched day v Man City , and above all Saints looked the business in the kit at the start of that season to herald in a new era. The £20m plus we've shelled out this summer is a complete yawn by comparison. -
90's or early 2000's as far as I know. I lived in the north east in the early 80's and don't recall hearing it from Geordies (or Sunderland fans )

Mostly in full burka's and showing no flesh at all ?

There was a good feature about RL on West Country Tonight regional ITV programme in our part of the world, obviously focusing on him as a former Bristol Rovers favourite. Interview with the chairman, and head of the supporters club etc. Wonder what the 'uddersfield chairman is saying up there ?
-
Any good stories to relay then ? In particular, the one involving the bread knife ?
-
Perhaps the best husband and wife duo since Mr & Mrs Dennis many years ago. And looking at her piccies, good job Pardew is not around to get caught up in any unseemly rumours.

Hey, I warming to him, and her in particular. She certainly won't put up with any grief from skates, or bompey pseudos will she ?
