  1. 'magic' stuff !!! Can't recall who sang it - Sailor sprang to mind, but that was Glass of Champagne (equally naff)
  2. With Lee Barnard acting as their minder, and Forepast the Entertainment Secretary.
  3. Could be this year's Christmas best seller.
  4. Yes, remember that one ....
  5. ...but the previous two were not.
  6. A winnable fixture at home.... that's the worry.
  7. Yes, as I posted above. It was a significant turning point, not only after the 20 game winless run, but also put some distance between us and Newcastle who I think were relegated at the end of the season. I remember seeing some people crying with joy after that goal, Ruddock's brief icon status started at that point also.
  8. Sorry Turkish but you simply can't claim the credit for this. I recommended him to the club whilst he was still a foetus.
  9. Steve Moran v Skates 1984. Neil Ruddock's last minute penalty v Newcastle c 1988. Gilchrist v Palace 1976 - the dream was on Peach v Palace 1976 - the dream was nearly there Stokes 1976 - the dream was complete
  10. I heard Pulis on 5Live yesterday commenting that Scheiderlin ( & Lallana to be fair) had been simply outstanding and had never stopped running, Schneiderlin was the "complete midfield player". A spot on summary. I think many felt MS always had the potential to play on the big stage, but like many players before him you wondered if his own temperament and confidence might be his undoing. Most certainly not, he has grown into the role, season by season. Remember NA saying he would be one of the best midfield players in the Premiership whilst we were in the Championship. In my book, Morgan should be the captain rather than AL, as he has the "drive" about him to become a Case or Williams type of leader on the pitch (still not in the Alan Ball class but that could still come with maturity and experience.). It does however remain a bit of a mystery how we afforded him at a time we were stony broke, just hope Rupert didn't tie up a deal with Strasbourg to pay them 133% of whatever we receive for him in any future transfer, and take some hapless GK from them in the process.
  11. Can you ? I thought he was a liability or England the other night, and as posed on the thread at the time, I was let wondering if he was playing in clown shoes from the lack of control, and inability to stay on his feet. Perhaps he is England's Guly. I was just thankful the cross from Baines did not go near his head, and Rooney got to it, otherwise the ball might have bounced vertically off of him and out of the stadium. Agree on team selections.
  12. Not to mention Woy's faith in Danny Bellw^nk, but then again he does play or MancU
  13. Nothing like desperation to chase a victory or two is there ?
  14. Baines is just keeping the lb spot warm, for Shaw. Is Wellbeck wearing clown shoes ?
  15. That's him, used to play for Fulchester Rovers.
  16. Slight amendment to your joke.
  17. Careful, or you might have Will Young on you for that expression. http://www.standard.co.uk/showbiz/celebrity-news/will-young-teachers-need-backing-over-homophobic-language-in-schools-8876060.html
  18. Perhaps the "roadshow" will end when the club have done something to eclipse their achievements, and the memory of them, that Saints supporters of certain ages, carry of them.
  19. Don't be silly, Woy & Co will be too busy trying to attract Albanian-Croatian Belgians, kids from Burundi, and other corners of the globe on some ridiculous residency "qualification" , to notice home grown talent.
  20. Think the Bally comparison is perhaps a step too far, although he is only 18 and shows outstanding maturity for his age. I doubt he will reach the scale of Bally, but still a good player in the making, for club and country, I do realise you said "touch of AB about him" btw. More of a Scholes in my book, but maybe that is based more on build and colouring than form.
  21. Cardiff half-marathon today. Probably not relevant though.
  22. Mike Dean as ref. Rings a bell, but why ? Have we had some controversial or p1ss poor performances from him in the past ?
  23. We may be talking at cross purposes here, and if so, sorry, but I had a notification of an upgrade last night and thinking it was just for security issues went for it. Unfortunately it has taken me from an ios6 which looked good and worked well to an ios7 system. This may work just as well, but the screen now looks like its been made by Fisher Price.

You surprise me with that to be honest, we still have a bit of a glut up here in Gloucestershire.
