  1. Outrageous, and a travesty really. Would certainly be worth bringing it to the attention of a higher level of management at SMS, possibly even a letter to NC, or even the owners. They may or may not respond of course, but at least you will have taken it as far as you can. After that, as others have said, the Echo will probably want to publicise it.
  2. Quite a stark contrast to years gone by !
  3. In the past Saints fns have always seen it as an honour when one of our own has gone on to play for England, such as Paine or Chivers (before my time), or Channon,Williams,Wright,MLT,Shearer etc. More recently there has been the issue of "our" players being 'distracted' by the call up, even being lured away by mixing with the big club set. For Lambert at the moment I'm glad he is not wasting time on meaningless friendlies, although hope he scores 30 next season to make it impossible for Woy to ignore him, should England make it to the finals (have my doubts). But at least its good to know our players are eligible for England, as I suspect we'll have an influx of foreign mercenaries that will remove us even further from this.
  4. Halves or quarters would be a great improvement on this season. Feyenoord kit looks a classic design: Red & white in the above would be an improvement over this season. No sorry, this below is dreadful, even Cardiff only managed to mismatch the reds between shirt and shorts, not on the same item: Good mock up by the way, not criticising your ability on that.
  5. Another 'special one' from Portugal ? Could this by any chance be the mysterious link that brought him into contact with Benfica ?
  6. I thought the reference was due to the fact Strasbourg,& Alsace were part of Germany until after WW1 when it was then annexed to France as part of Treaty of Versaille. True, and shows how ridiculous the residency rule is, but if Zaha can play for England.... except of course Morgan acknowledges that having lived here a few years does not make him 'English'.
  7. This is true. But personally, I find the yellow and blue a bit tiring.
  8. Looks far too much like every other yellow shirt, blue trim we have had really.
  9. Of the away kits mocked up this looks good to me:
  10. He still has it to prove as far as I'm concerned, but was clinging to the hope that with some careful signings he would take us forward next season, playing exciting football (although matches v WBA, & Stoke do not inspire me, nor the results in the last six games or so). More worrying is where NC might drum up a replacement (probably has Di Masturbateo on speed dial).
  11. Probably won't qualify for it either. You have to remember though that Woy was selected mainly because he wasn't Wedknapp. And even when his spell comes to an end there are very few, if any, credible candidates. When did England v Eire ever throw up anything other than a dull stalemate ? Probably when the match was abandoned.
  12. Neil Ruddock is a very watered down version of John McGrath. Agree about Jimmy Case though.
  13. Your post made me think of my 'hardest' Saints back four ; Golac - McGrath - Steele - Dennis Yes, have to add Ivan Golac, who always looked tough as old teak on those runs of his.
  14. Won't stop them making an approach will it ? I think there was a reference during the Chelsea v Benfica match last week , that their season had disintegrated and they were likely to end up with bugger all to show, so their manager is probably on thin ice if true.
  15. Hugh Fisher - pre injury - could tackle and get stuck in. Terry Paine could be a nasty b^stard as well from time to time , when in the mood. And in about 1970, add Brian O'Neill to those two for a pretty 'robust' midfield trio.
  16. One of my first Saints heroes, along with Big Ron, from The Alehouse team. I think that is unfair to be honest, he was hard, did not take prisoners and could mix it when needed, but I think he was a better defender and footballer than his image portrayed. I'd have John McGrath in our back 4 ahead of the current central defenders, would love to have seen him put the likes of Carroll in their place, ably assisted by Jimmy Gabriel.
  17. 9, did not get Ibrox.
  18. Yes, either a red & white version of AC Milan's , or a reverse version of the Ajax home kit, would be perfect. In fact, I would not mind if NC gave us the Milan shirt at home, even if it does have AFCB connections. A copy of AC Milan is one thing, but please not a plain red copy of L/pool, ManU, Cardiff, Forest ,Bristol City effort
  19. RIP Ron. Big Ron, one of the few who really deserves the accolade of being considered an 'All time Great'. Sad that he has passed away, and sad that the club won't be able to bring him over for a touchline appearance.
  20. Solution then if they do come up with something like that is to campaign not to buy it. But we all know mindless saps will buy anything to keep up to date.
  21. Agree totally, but it seems we are at the mercy of Cortese in respect of the shirt.
  22. I suspect the feeling would be a lot stronger outside of the 'mongboard community' if asked.
  23. Lamela might be a bit over ambitious after reading this article : http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/395918/Manchester-City-to-up-offer-for-Roma-s-Erik-Lamela-after-opening-bid-is-rejected Man City interested, £18.5m bid ?
  24. But that strip though would just be a copy of the Ajax strip. Although it would still be infinitely preferable to this season's effort.
