  1. Although I think there may be some merit in the Pardew-NUFC link coming to NC's attention, and AP's heart not being in the Saints job pre and early season 2010 there is a flaw in the timing of your explanation. If "mid-season" this would be sometime 2009-10 when NUFC looked certs for promotion. Is it really suggested that they might have jeopardised that by sacking Hughton who had got them there and had player's support to bring in an unpopular 'London' type ?
  2. Its rather like the Jocks clinging to the memory of Bannockburn, a victory of theirs once, but confined to the history books.
  3. Yes,is my initial view. But, much depends on how much Celtic want for him. If as reported they are seeking £2m then its questionable ,although if he forms a tight defence with Fonte then he is worth it for what he adds . Danger is though if Celtic get rid of Lennon as speculated on the radio tonight then possibly a new man will want to look at him again.
  4. ****ing hell
  5. Dave Jones as appearing in that article. It looked to me if the skates had already rigged him up in their sailor boy mascot outfit for the photo: One name yet to appear on their list is WGS. Please don't do it Gordon, you should know it will end in failure, and tarnish your sacred reputation.
  6. Thank you - obviously advanced senility ! Although I had picked up on the Fulham bit. Apart from that, anything known ?
  7. Saw this yesterday regarding a 17yr old at Eastleigh, Sam Wilson. http://www.eatsleepsport.com/fulham/cottagers-to-get-first-refusal-for-teen-ace-1308695.html According to this article, Fulham have first refusal. Anyone know anything about him ?
  8. Adrian Chiles, bit rubber faced mongoloid.
  9. sweet
  10. Dave Jones has a very short memory if he goes there, as do their fans.Seem to remember he was the brunt of a lot of obscene songs from them at one time.
  11. There's a player who always seems to have a 'court case ready to happen' written all over him.
  12. Have you never heard of Alan Ball ?
  13. That is a good point, as we also share in the enjoyment of Cotterill's post match moan. After Adkins waxing lyrical ( "magnificent", "superb" "crowd were fantastic", etc) and pure 'positivity' [to use another Adkinsism], it is always good to hear the depressed and desperate excuses from Clot at the other -lower - end of the scale.
  14. Wasn't the European scout that was linked to/joined us in the summer Danish ? No idea if he did eventually join though as I think it was only picked up from the media in a paper in Europe (Holland or Denmark).
  15. If he does sign then he can go straight into our All Time Saints Genitalia XI with: Guly Ball Ivan Gonad Tommy Foreskin
  16. If the Police insist on Saints playing skates on Sunday, what is there to stop the Palace game moving to a Tuesday or Wednesday ? Palace may not like missing a bank holiday home fixture, but tough, doubt they'd be able to prevent it, if moved on Police advice/orders.
  17. Hislop and Paul Merton. Dennis Wise, although more of a pinhead than down's syndrome perhaps.
  18. gently
  19. Elm Park Ayresome Park Highbury Highfield Road Eastville Roker Park Goldstone Wembley Ninian Park Should add Stamford Bridge, as it bears no resemblance now to what it was like in 1976, With exception of Wembley, not been to newer grounds.
  20. Not confusing this with Bradbury are you?
  21. I said some weeks ago that Cotterill would gravitate back to his level, at either Bournemouth or Cheltenham. As for Cotterill attending matches wasn't he a regular at St Mary's at one point ?Just waiting for a call, from Rupert or whoever. In fact there was a rumour that Cotterill had been promised the job at one point. pending a takeover by one group or another.
  22. Cotterill seems to still be thriving on the reputation of a manager who was once considered a good "up and coming manager for the future". That however was about 10 years ago when he left Cheltenham, to achieve bugger all since. Now he has the "they was skint, only had a small squad,no money " line to mask his limitations. Perhaps he is doing a good job, in desperate situations, but that would not put him on my list. Agree with the Burley comparison. Also, O'Driscoll, as soon as he left Doncaster I thought he'd end up at the skates, has an inevitability to it really, back to the south coast to continue the 'pompey-bompey bumfun' relationship they like to share.Would be a good choice for them to,hope Bristol City take him on board first.
  23. My mistake - must be age. But the game did in my view turn on the needless penalty given away.
