  3. Sorry to say this thread conjures up a mental picture of Fred & Wilma Flintstone...
  4. Skatesmouth 2000 BC
  5. Yyyyyyyyyeeeeeessssss
  6. You mean "rest" surely ?
  7. Just realised though that the photo pre-dates our 'Alehouse' days, as it is before the late, great John McGrath joined us.
  8. Thats a bloody good shout Ottery. The Jimmy G I think is Gallagher.
  9. Agree and its a shame as we could have won at both Derby and Reading in the end. But, fact is we recovered at both from going a goal down, whereas in previous seasons we ight have folded. I'm far from disappointed by October's results and certainly would have accepted coming out of the month NOT losing to any of Derby,West Ham, or Boro.
  10. I enjoyed watching the Vikings in the 70's.
  11. Ottery seems to support my recollection from his post above. Good fellow that he is.
  12. Hereford United into the old Division 2 under Terry Paine's onfield influence. 1975/6. Northampton Town in the 1960's I believe went from Divisio 4 to 1 in consecutive seasons, although soon dropped back again. I think Swansea may have emulated them in the 70's in the first part of that achievement.
  13. Worth also remembering that Mick Channon's goal was against a Liverpool team that at the time were at the peak of their games and one of the best teams in Europe;we however left them chasing shadows and looking like tailor's dummies.
  14. Ditto.
  15. I'd qualify that, and say this season.Should/when we make it to the premiership then I think we may need another GK.
  16. I feared the run of Derby - West Ham - Reading- Boro as a watershed in our season, but to come out of it without defeat and remain top is really the proverbial dog's b0ll0cks. Delighted by it and it augers well, I'm almost fearing that I'm starting to believe in our potential to fulfill expectation. To be critical we might even hve won at both Derby AND Reading in the final minutes.
  17. Fffffuuuuucking yes guly
  18. Cortese song in full volme

  21. 3,062,681,465th, and in the all time tally 76,736,270,401st Might demand a recount.
  22. but wasn't Malcom Waldron from somewhere near Skatesville? Mick Mills, although coming to us on after Ipswich, also started as a junior there before they decided they could no longer afford to run either the juniors or reserve team in the 1960's.
  23. That 4-0 was the last time we beat Boro at home as far as I'm aware. They've been a bit of a bogey team to us since, especially that 2-2 draw, 'Arry's first game in charge. How he managed to turn things round, for the first89 minutes. So either we are due to beat the f^ckers or the bogey continues, depending if you are a glass half full or empty sort of person. As for the swear filter, its a good job its 'Boro not S****horpe as the cocks won't allow that word still.
  24. Let's not forget Bobby Stokes place of birth. Nothing particularly new in this, Saints taking the most talented players in the area.
  25. Good planning, two Aarons as centrebacks, with two Dans as full backs.
