  3. Yyyyyyyeeeeeesssssssssssssssss
  4. As someone else pointed out the above has a familiar ring to it. I had felt quietly confident until reading you had lost three on the trot. I can assure you that from my 40 years of following Saints you could not wish for more obliging opponents than Saints when you're on a run of defeats,or have not scored for 9months or whatever.
  5. BBC said in their coverage on Saturday that the photographers ban "had been lifted". so option f)Nicola graciously stepped down or g) Nicola capitulated and did a 'u' turn depending on your starting view of NC.
  6. I don't see why recognition of Saints former glories and heroes, compared with the businesslike approach should be mutually exclusive. I am sure NC and ML were aware of the clubs history and it is something they should embrace etc.Whether that recognition is as much as perhaps individuals may expect is of course another matter. Not sure about LM undermining the current set up,but you can't blame Lawrie for speaking to the Echo about AP's future when asked.Perhaps a little more openness and communication from the club on that topic earlier might have prevented the media hysteria last May.
  7. But hasn't Barnard got a hernia ? (Did I read that somewhere or is it just my own dementia setting in ?). If so, I don't think we can afford to be that patient and reinforcements are required.

In the good old days though there was no public pre-match warm up.Teams would enter seperately for about a five minute kick around before kick off. On several occasions as a youngster I'd be reading the programme - or a Football League Review insert -at The Dell to hear a modicum of polite applause around me(yes, this is a bygone age),and hear a comment such as "christ, theier out early" as the opposition ran out from the West stand-Milton corner.Depending on who we were playing of course there might be some cheering from the Archers or general booing from the home fans to follow. Sorry, did not mean to hijack your thread but that comment allowed me to wallow in a bit of Dell nostalgia.
  9. Agree with most of that except I would not want to rely upon DC as being an option as striker. In view of his age and injury record,he is a "back up" at best, when he is fit. I am comfortable with Harding at LB but would like to see Dickson playing in front of him at LM until Lallana is back. Intersting observations on formation and subsitutions though.Didn't Adkins seek a 3-5-2 towards the end of the game yesterday ? If so then its good to have a manager -at long last - with a plan B.

Nothing new. That was the phrase invented when his predecessor came here in 1982.

    Ahem

Wonder if he had taken out a Personal Injury Imsurance Policy in the last couple of days ?
  16. I'd prefer Dickson as LM for the timebeing.
  17. I find their tone,as reported, to be outrageous, and bordering on the disrespectful to Marcus Leibherr's family. The Liebherr's are under no obligation to be answerable to a group of bumptious knobs who behave like 1970's shop stewards always seem intent on promoting a confrontation where none should exist. Perhaps on reading of this the Liebherr's should just say "sorry, can't meet your requirements so we'll walk away.." or just "b0ll0cks to it" . I wonder where that would leave the shop stewards, and what they might seek if that happened.
  18. Peace of p!ss, we'll manage that by Christmas, easy ...
  19. How many games did Burley need for a league win ?
  20. I know what you are driving at as this was AP's team that he had assembled. By the same token though we are now reaping the rewards of what seems like a poorly prepared squad (pre-season with AP), and a squad that has been depleted of key components last season - Papa & Antonio - who were not replaced.
  21. Hope so.
  22. Not sure I dare risk resting Kelvin. Hammond I might demote to the find another club bracket on this seasons performances. Agree that Fonte and Morgan "can do better". Connolly is living on a few good performances last season. Puncheon - waste of space.
  23. ditto ?
  24. wtf?
  25. Just got in- how have we been???
