  4. Thought it was called 'Solent Green' ; these were the two chevrons on our away kit where the main colour was described as "wight".
  5. What's LM's take on 'wimmin' linespersons ?
  6. Agree. As David Mellor used to say on 606 "...a very good point, and eloquently put..".

  8. ..and previously amber and black.. and on occasion radical blue flame effect
  9. Could your title not be within your own question, "Oh when the ( or "a") Saint(s) " perhaps with the qualification complete history of Saints 1885 - 2011,," ?
  10. Results certainly support your view of BHA brushing teams aside. Credit to Poyet for installing a breed of confidence from results, whereas we win a couple handsomely then the engine stalls. Your perception of us as a collection of individuals is spot on. Craig Noone ? A good point that whilst you sign him,a player who might make a difference to you, we bring in N'Guessen and Fort who Adkins hopes might make us a better squad( (possibly a better team even).
  11. You should know that had he come to us with his track record of injury he would not have played a game for us.

  20. Phil Boyer was indeed an unsung hero for much of his career,as he spent it in the shadow of Ted McDougall's goalscoring at Bournemouth and Norwich before they arrived at Saints. In 1979/80 though he was unstoppable at home, although didn't score away until January. Great potential forward line of him and KK was expected, but it never materialised,as Channon and even a rejuvenated Charlie George for a few weeks seemed to keep him out of the side.
  21. That is certainly the best team goal I've seen. What a great team that season, every time I watch that goal something new amazes me, notice Armstrong's contribution.Firstly taking the ball in front of his own defence, then appearing in their penalty area for the header back to KK. (Best individual goal is probably MLT's first v Newcastle 1994/5 in my view).
