Actually I recall walking past there on the opening of St Marys and being intrigued by the Southampton crest as seen from a distance in the photos.Great shame that building could not have been preserved. Lisbie is a bit of a poor mans Peter Crouch in that for several years he was much maligned by supporters of clubs he played for.Think one club,either Palace or Charlton - possibly even Wimbledon,he has been around that long - had T-shirts of "I've seen Lisbie score" made. There is no other Crouch comparison though and I'm not sure what Lisbie would offer us.

Christ,£800,00 does not seem unreasonable for a player who over the last two seasons has been 'talked of' in the £1m plus range,some reports (admittedly not a sound source of valuation) at £2M. If anything I suspect it could be the structure of the deal - ie £upfront,add ons after promotion,and even Gilletts value - that might be an issue.

All three of them should share the blame for that.None of them wanted to take responsibility or make a tackle.

As I see it Saints should have acted with the courtesy to notify both Ward and his club that they were not proceeding with the deal.However if the oik,or someone else at Lavatory City prematurely broadcast it to the media then that clearly is not our fault and any embarrassment is of their own making. I think that summarises him,and my concerns over his reliability,he goes to pieces easily. Don't think he will be to be honest.I expect an investment in a quality keeper in the summer .
