  1. He’s an intelligent player, good positional sense and hasn’t got a bad touch. Would be decent in the French league or similar, but lacks the necessary strength & pace to play in England. Without both, You have to be exceptional over here & he’s clearly not.
  2. Fantastic coach? Based on what?
  3. Yeah it did. Some of the nods near me were constantly trying to get it going. If that was Jones picking that team, making those subs and, playing like that “your football is shit” would have rung out.
  4. Sat in services on way home, depressed. That was typical of this bunch of fucking soft arse son in laws. Soft Goalkeeping, Julian Clearly has got stronger wrists than this bloke. Both full backs poor, Moi????. The big lump gets smaller when jumps and the other new lad is the very definition of “flatters to deceive”. Manager poor, the subs made us worse and the “effort” put in after they scored to get back in the game was frankly pathetic.
  5. The sea “border” came into being because May agreed that they’d be no “hard” border between NI & Eire at the very start of the withdrawal negotiations. Once this principle was established there were only 2 options, the deal we have now, or RUK staying in the single market. The only way to get the RUK out of The SM was to leave The Micks behind, May & Robbins ensured that.
  6. You can say it as much as you like pet, but even your messiah thinks it’s pony. https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/watford-vs-southampton-result-final-score-shane-long-goal-ralph-hasenhuttl-a8883651.html?amp
  7. This is the bottom line for me. Whilst it is too early to judge whether he’s the right man long term, what he has done is steadied the ship and calmed everything down. It looks like he’s bought the board time and ensured they don’t need to rush into a hasty appointment (which appeared the case with the American bloke).
  8. Back in the saddle now after given all clear by Doc, and taken off blood thinners. Must say the alcohol free stuff tasted pretty good. Nanny State & Ghost ship my favourites, but it’s not drinking and you don’t get the buzz. Few Tanglefoots today, and I confidently predict I’m not giving up (unless doc tells me). The buzz just ain’t the same .
  9. People who play fantasy football, that says it all. Load of old pony for geeks.
  10. What you on about?
  11. One even claimed Selles was behind sending him to Villa
  12. Yes we lost, 1-0 I think. It was defo a Sat though.
  13. I remember going to Swindon in league 1 with my nipper who was about 8 at the time. Driving home he had a miserable face on him. I asked him what the issue was and he said “why do you make me support Southampton, they’re rubbish “. I told him he can support his local team or the team I support, but being a glory hunter was unfulfilling. I spent the journey talking about the away days we could go on, how winning something would mean so much more, how following the city your dad came from was something to be proud of and beating the top clubs occasionally would make you happier than winning every week. When we got home he was up for it, still a saint and happier. He told the Snap Dragon about our conversation and said “it runs in the family”, her reply was “what does, being miserable at week ends?”
  14. In 2023 Nathan Jones is a better manager than Nigel Adkins. Jones will manage in championship again, Adkins won’t. He finished, career over, FFS. Why are people banging on about him as if he’s some sort of Wenger type elder statesman.
  15. Hopefully they’ll find someone better, a Jock Nigel, to lead them out of the Union. They’ve been a drag on England for half a century. Fucking sweaties….
  16. Les Reed’s, unless we start winning.
  17. Don’t you get it? He was behind the brilliant decisions against Leeds & Chelsea and also got Janny B sent out on loan. For gods sake don’t you watch the bench during the game? Nobody had ever challenged Ralph before, and forget about the actual game he managed, just pick out the odd good points of the season, and attribute them to him. Get onboard. Ffs
  18. What makes you think that was him and not Ralph?
  19. That’s the key for me, what was his input under Ralph & then under Jones?
  20. Only people in and around the club will be able to judge whether he’s capable of doing a decent job. What was his input under Ralph & then Jonesy? Is he respected by the players, is he their mate or is he capable of upsetting a few. Inside appointments are the one time I’d listen to a couple of the experienced pros, what do they think. Wily & Theo have played for some really good managers, JWP for about 78 different saints mangers. If I was running the club I’d ask them their opinions, they’re the ones that’ll know if he’s got a chance of doing the job. Has he an aura about him, or will the players think he’s the bib and balls man over promoted.
  21. They’ll be so busy looking for haddock they’ll miss the flares.
  22. If they were better, they wouldn’t get so much abuse. Most of them are jobs worths, and behave like star struck teenagers around the best players. If that had been Harry Kane or KDB on Sat he wouldn’t have got a second yellow. Local ones are even worse, basically traffic wardens with a whistle.
  23. What championship experience did Bielsa or Nuno have?
