A poll at this stage of the season is ridiculous. The blokes a cock, brought in to deliver promotion. If he does that, there’s no debate. If he doesn’t, then that’s the time for a poll & I’ll probably be in the “fuck off” camp. Hopefully I can have both, he gets us up and Brighton are so impressed with that incredible achievement they pay us a large wedge of compo for him. Fuck me, with him & Lallana in the dressing room, they’ll need new hair dryers & mirrors fitted.

The interesting thing is when you are comparing Martin’s time in league one, to Selles’ so far, it’s not particularly great for Martin. In his first full season, (and with the benefit of half the previous season to settle in) Russball had 18 wins & 11 draws. Selles in his first season (without the benefit of half the previous season) has 15 wins & 10 draws with 3 to play. In conceivable that by the end of the season Selles will have a couple of wins less than him & be around the same mid table position, with an absolute basket case of a club, probably the worst run club in the FL. And no, I don’t want Selles back to manage us, but martins record at the levels he managed at is on par or if not worse, than Jones & Selles. It just shows how fucking average he has been in his career so far. Let’s hope he has a “higher ceiling” than jones or Selles had, but people comparing him to those 2 aren’t shining the favourable light on him they think they are.

Our unbeaten run reminds of the glorious 12 hours when we were top of the league. In the context of the season, it means absolutely fuck all, but it got our Noddy element excited & the adolescent muppets who run or social media department made twats of themselves. File it under “who gives a fuck”, alongside a mid table side’s 148 pass goal a couple of years ago. The only unbeaten run that matters now is 3 games at the end of May.

I don’t think people are saying that had jones stayed, got relegated, somehow kept his job, we’d now be in the play off places. I think what they’re saying is had Jones come in when Martin did and straight from Luton, he’d probably get this squad to the play offs as well. I don’t think anybody thinks he should be managing us, or anybody thinks he did anything other than a hopeless job when he did. But the fact remains he did a better job at Luton than Lego did at MK Dons & Swansea.

It wasn’t that good, our possession stats weren’t good enough & we lacked bravery where it mattered. Fuck me, Shilton even used to boot most goalkicks straight up the pitch & don’t get me started on our fullbacks, unbelievably they didn’t ever drift into centre midfield.

It is fucking simple. There is a “best team” KWP is in it, Janny B & THB are centre halves in it & Fucking Jack Stephens doesn’t play his pound shop John Stones role. Adam Armstrong doesn’t play centre forward in it just because he pesters you to do so. Not only does it make AA less effective it also means you’re dropping a bloke who scored a couple lately.The fact you don’t know your best team in mid April is pretty damning imo. You should know your best 11 by now & then rotate around it dependant on who is available.

Exactly. 8th is 8th & play offs are play offs. Stating we’d be in second in other seasons doesn’t make RussBall anymore more successful, 4th is just 4th.

Fucking hell. If you’re one of the best 2 teams in the division, you’ll get promoted. Points totals from other seasons are irrelevant, you’re playing different fucking teams. Leagues are weaker some years, stronger others. Nobody denies Leicester were deservedly champions despite getting less points than Liverpool did finishing second in another year. 8th is 8th & 4th is 4th. People twisting that because it doesn’t suit their opinion of managers is pretty pathetic really. Bring the 4th best team this season with this squad of players is no big deal, regardless of how many points you get. Fuck me, I remember 2 promotions from this league and haven’t got the foggiest idea how many points we got, it’s irrelevant.

It’s laughable that you give credit to Martin for getting Southampton into a play off place, whilst refusing to give Jones any for doing the same with Luton.

The last full season at Luton he got them in the play offs, which is exactly where Russball has taken a far better Saints squad. I wouldn’t be so sniffy about 9th either, it’s a higher finish that Martin achieved in 2 seasons at Swansea. He also got Luton to 2nd in lesgue 1 something Russ couldn’t manage at MK Dons

The standard of the leagues you’re comparing is totally different. At this level Jones got Luton into the play offs. I suggest that’s every bit as good as Martin has done at Swansea or Southampton.

Didn’t he say he’d buy Baz if he wasn’t already here. It’s a bit of a stretch to imply Baz in nets is something he inherited. He’s 100% onboard the Baz bus, & could have binned him if he wanted. We look over coached to me. No spontaneity & for all the talk of being “brave” the players are just sticking to the “process”, there’s nothing brave about that. If you’re not going to blamed for giving the ball away mincing around at the back, it’s not brave to mince around at the back.
