Load of old pony
-
It’s a sport, not the fucking opera. The result is the be all and end all of everything. That’s the problem with our club, too many noddy supporters like you. Seems like you act like a customer, not a supporter.

IMO….Chelsea was an excellent performance, as was Man Utd. The last half hour of Leeds, and to some extent Leicester were acceptable. Spurs was horrendous, Villa even worse, and the first hour against Leeds was pony. Wolves was just average. In other words, the seasons been typically Ralph.
-
Early season performances can’t be viewed in context without also taking into account the second half of last season. The reason Davie Moyes is more secure in his job despite a poor start is the job he did last season. Ralphs early season performances mirror the back half of last season. The board clearly thought those performances weren’t acceptable, because the back room staff were binned. Have things got any better? Not so far…..And that’s why he’s living on borrowed time.
-
We may have lost but and least we turned up and gave it a go, unlike WGS’ side. God can you imagine the “I want to be entertained” Noddies thoughts had we set up like we did against Arsenal? His best was as good as Ralph’s, but his worse was nowhere near the lows The Alpine Klopp has delivered, nowhere fucking near.

I thought he should have gone preseason 2021, then thought he should have gone last preseason. I actually think the new owners dropped a bollock by not getting their own man in. However, I’m not a great believer in changing horses mid season unless it’s absolutely necessary. I’m not 100% sure we’re at that stage yet, but we can not accept many more of the lacklustre performances he produced on Friday. I’d probably reassess once the World Cup starts, and depending on results by then and more importantly who is available, make a decision then. One thing for sure, unless he shows some solid consistency or gets us to a final, he needs to fuck off come the end of May…..

I don’t think he’s a defensive manager in the traditional sense, he doesn’t really set teams up negatively or not to lose. However, he’s adapted to some of the thrashing’s we’ve received by not being so gung ho going forward. We seem to now keep the ball for the sake of it, as opposed to keeping it to move the opposition around and create overloads around the pitch. At their best his sides won the ball quick and early and then went for it, now if we win it, we’ll go sideways, backwards, sideways, allowing the opposition time to get set in their defensive structure. We are caught between 2 stools, not a Puel like team that are set up to defend properly, neither are we a Ralph at his best team that pressed early, aggressively and then went forward positively. The full backs don’t seem to play as high up the pitch as before, JWP must play half his passes backward, we’re nowhere near as dynamic as we used to be. I’ve always thought he was a bit of a fraud, all this Klopp of the alps pony, but I think it’s undeniable that he’s a worse manager now than he was upon joining us. Those 9-0’s have changed him, we’ve lost the best bit of him and the worst bit has always been pretty shite. I used to think he was an average manager over rated by a lot on here, he’s now a pretty poor one who’ll be lucky to see out the season.

😂 so this is how you justify Burnley have a better squad, & 9 of them would get in our starting 11. I could counter by saying “how shite are Burnley, Dale Stephens got a game for them last season”. The simple fact is that most neutrals will think Dyche did a decent job keeping Burnley up in previous seasons, and had a pretty poor squad when they finally succumbed to the inevitable. To use finishing above Burnley as some sort of achievement really shows the thinness of your argument.
-
Barnes, J Rod 😂 .Barnes only started 8 games for Burnley, but he’d make the saints side. Your defence of Ralph is getting funnier & funnier by the hour. Now he somehow managed to finish above the mighty Burnley, and without top top players like Ashley Barnes. So who are the 2 out of JWP, KWP, Tino, Salisu, Adams, Broja & Oriol Romeu that will get into your joint Burnley/ Southampton team?
-
What sort of jobsworth confiscates somebodies lockets, what does he think, the bloke spiked them with Novichok?
-
You’re deluded. Burnley a better squad 😂😂 Rodgers has won the FA cup and got them into Europe twice, Moyes has got West Ham into Europe, they’ve got credit in the bank to ride out a rough spell. Ralph has done what,? never finished in the top 10, been given 2 shallacings as well as plenty of embarrassing defeats. It’s been fucking ground hog day season after season, a few decent performances, a few meh performances and a complete of disgraceful performances season after season. The only thing that ever changes is the excuses put forward by the cult.

Is Spurs Conti’s team? Im damn sure the manager would have held discussions with the new owners around their business plan, their philosophy, and how they wanted to run the club. I’ve no doubt had he not bought into their vision then a parting of the ways would have taken place. No manager has 100% control over buying and selling players, so absolving the manager of any blame when they’re poor is just a cop out. A cop out that depends of the individuals view of the manager, when it’s Hughes he’s a pony manager, when it’s Ralph it’s the poor players he’s been given.
-
If it isn’t Ralph’s team, it certainly wasn’t Mark Hughes’ team either, yet I don’t recall too many sticking up for him or praising him for keeping us up. The defence of Ralph is becoming laughable now. Although there’s less of them drinking the Kool-Aid, some have clearly jumped the shark. He’s had a long stint (for the modern game) in charge, his culture, his identity is stamped all over the team, and the fact nobody ever knows what we’re going to get performance & selection wise each week, is damning. He dodged a bullet in the summer, when his back room staff were blamed, yet it looks like more of the same. Whose to blame now, Doris the tea lady or the bloke that washes the kit? If Ralph is still here in 2045 Lighthouse will still be claiming “it’s not his team”.
-
What on earth makes you think Fat Sam or any other dinosaur would be appointed? This is a pony argument, completely and utterly. Keep Ralph because we may get fat Sam, Arry, Steve Bruce or Alan Curbishley. You’ve sold me!!!!!!!Ralph in

The Possibility of a Proper Derby Match is on the Horizon
Lord Duckhunter replied to John B's topic in The Saints
Exactly this. This must be the longest knee jerk in history. A lot of people have been worried for a long time, it’s not just “the Villa game” (tm Gaston) -
My understand is most contracts have a fixed term for payments, but that this won’t necessarily mean the contract is paid up in full. For example, 5 year contract signed, with 2 year severance pay. So somebody sacked in year 2 will get 2 years money, not the 3 left on his contract.

The BCP area has a population closing in on 200k, (I believe Poole is the biggest town never to have had a football league club). In the 25 years I’ve lived down here there’s definitely been a shift with less and less people travelling up to Saints, this trend has increased significantly since their spell in the top flight. More and more people I meet and discuss football with consider themselves Bournemouth supporters and although most are a bit 2 club nods, in my opinion 25K is realistic in a new ground. Without doubt they could definitely sell high end hospitality if boxes existed. Their ground is ripe for housing development and pretty expensive properties at that. So if they could find somewhere to rebuild it’s definitely feasible. There is room for growth and money making opportunities, and it’s not ordinary punters through the door that make owners money anymore, its being in the Premier league and the TV monies involved and to a lesser extent the hospitality/hotel opportunities that accompanies premier league football. I can certainly see why someone would want to get involved. The council are also pretty skint & allegedly corrupt, so the same old NIMBYS May be bypassed where development is concerned.
-
It isn’t us that’s made them look bad, it’s the rest of the fucking teams they’ve played. We’ve actually made Villa & Wolves look ok. Leicester have just taken another dicking, Chelsea sacked their manager & Utd got done by Brighton & Brentford. Your noddy mentality is what’s wrong with a number of our supporters. You keep claiming we had a tough start, we didn’t. 7 games and we’ve faced one decent side. If those 7 games included City, Liverpool, Arsenal, you’d have a point. But they didn’t, and you don’t. We have made a poor start considering the fixtures we’ve had. If you’ve got to play 3 of the big clubs, you’d pick Chelsea & Utd at the moment. You’d want Leicester every day of the week this season, & Wolves and Villa have made awful starts.
-
They took deadwood off our hands last season, perhaps Leicester will replace Rodgers with Ralph 🙏
-
Why do you persist with this pony “those fixtures” as if they’re tough. Chelsea were such a shambles they sacked their manager, Utd got dicked by Brentford & Brighton, Villa are shiete, Leicester have pretty much lost every fucking league game so far, and wolves have only won a league game because they played us. That leaves Leeds, who aren’t exactly world beater and spurs. One good side, one. Contrast that with Bournemouth who’ve played Man C, Liverpool, Arsenal & city and still have 1 more point than us. We’ve had a pretty fucking easy fixture list, 7 points from those games at the times they were played, is not “par”, far from it.
-
Their next five games are; Brentford, Leicester, us, West Ham, & Fulham. For a team nailed on relegated they could be above us by WC.
