  1. I suppose winning London twice was ‘meh’ as well. Perhaps you can get back to me the next time a Tory wins that. Mind you, I doubt either of us will be alive. Maybe you could also point us in the direction of a party leader leader that’s increased a majority after that party had served 3 terms . Fact is, he won a labour city twice, the Brexit vote & a stonking majority from a position of extreme weakness. You may not like or respect him, but to say he hasn’t achieved anything is complete & utter nonsense. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. “Hardly backs against the wall stuff”. What a load of pony. He had a majority of -40 odd, Parliament had taken control of the timetable & the fixed term parliament act put the timing of any election into the hands of his opponents. Politically he probably had his back to the wall, like no other PM has ever had in peacetime . Not only did he manage to get out of that mess, he then produced a massive majority. As for not counting winning elections as an achievement, that’s just nonsense. You’re defining political achievement by your political beliefs. This is clearly a ridiculous way to measure achievement. In my opinion Tony Blair did a lot of harm & damage to the country, that’s a political opinion. To say he didn’t achieve anything by not counting his 3 massive wins is clearly nonsense. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. When it’s all over do you think more people will have caught the virus because Cheltenham, football, festival etc continued or roughly the same amount would have caught it anyway, just at a later date. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. So it only gets passed on by hugging then? Not by using public transport, shops & public areas. Not by touching table surfaces in restaurants & pubs, touching door handles, sitting on benches or pressing pelican crossings etc. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. Danny Baker asked an interesting question tonight. One of the events Boris critics have complained about was the Liverpool V Madrid fixture on March 12th. If they’re right we should have seen a spike in cases in Liverpool & surrounding areas by now. There were 3,000 people coming from a virus hotspot, drinking, eating & socialising around the City. Has there been one? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Has anyone posted the Government’s detailed reply to allegations? I can’t be arsed to look back, so apologies if someone has already. http:// https://healthmedia.blog.gov.uk/2020/04/19/response-to-sunday-times-insight-article/ Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. Many more programmes like “One World together” & I’m breaking the lockdown. Anyone feeling alone & suicidal won’t be helped by watching that dirge. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. Trusting WHO to be a impartial authority on this is like trusting FIFA to be the final authority on football. You won’t be able to judge which countries handled this well & which poorly until way after the event as it’s a bit more complex than counting official Covid death figures per country. For example Sweden may have more Covid deaths, but less suicides or cancer deaths. Nobody really knows. It’s really like the Brexit discussion all over again, with some people who think they’re important sticking it to the Government, but the public generally supportive. Personally, I think the lockdown is disproportionate but think the Government is doing OK. Seeing as the option was Boris or Corbyn, I think we’ve the right man in charge. 15. As most know my Mrs has had a rough week & is an NHS worker. Some twts setting of fireworks & sounding stupid horns frightened our dog to bloody death. She loves that dog & it really upset her watching him shaking and petrified. I know they mean well, but these ****ing idiots do need to stop and think. First week was one thing, every week getting a bit OTT now. Let’s have an NHS day when it’s all over, carnivals, street parties, collections, whatever. But give it a rest now. 16. I bet the planks clapping will be the first to grass up their neighbours if they dare to take 2 walks a day. The Spectator reporting that in Paris police phone lines are getting clogged up by people reporting their neighbours and they’ve appealed to people to stop. Bit of common sense from the mayor as well. Time for Khan to step up to the plate and stop playing politics. “The mayor of Paris's 20th arrondissement has asked residents of her neighbourhood to stop denouncing each other. 'When it's a question of violence against women or children, or selling drugs, I'm still all ears,' said Frédérique Calandra this week. 'But these calls stigmatising Parisians who wish only to get a breath of fresh for a few minutes, they're unacceptable.Passing on a message from the police, Calandra told people to stop denouncing their neighbours for petty infractions of the confinement regulations because it was overwhelming their emergency phone lines.” Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. He must have picked JWP ahead of Matt for his “gut busting pace” then. I must be “obtuse” then, because I can’t see how on earth anyone can pick Prowse above him. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  22. Mason losing the plot tonight. He reckons this so called sabotage of Corbyn is a Watergate moment, “not just for The Labour Party but for British politics”. These people are ****ing lunatics. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  23. Not enough debate on whether the lockdown is a proportionate response. As soon as someone tries to discuss it, they’re shouted down as if they want people to die. The Government won’t even tell us whether the lockdown is to ease the burden on NHS or whether it’s going to save a significant number of lives. They’re trying to indicate it’s both. My opinion is that it can’t be. Until we know the definitive answer to that,we can’t really discuss easing the lockdown. If it is to protect the NHS then lockdown can be eased/reapplied depending on capacity. If it’s to save significant lives, it’s hard to see it ending for months & months. Reports are the chancellor thinks we’re approaching tipping point, and that the economic damage & other health outcomes of continuing the lockdown will eventually kill more people than the actual virus. Trump is a moron, but he’s right about one thing, the cure can not be allowed to be worse than the disease. I don’t know the answer, I’m not a scientist, economist or a Government minister, but my gut feeling is we need to manage this virus through the population within NHS capacity (and I have lost someone I cared for deeply). That means relaxing the lockdown for the healthy once the trend is downwards. I just don’t see a vaccine emerging , we haven’t found one for SARS yet, why would we suddenly find one for this. We cant remain locked in for months & months, it’s not sustainable for the countries economy or health long term. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  24. The media have been woeful during this whole thing, shockingly poor. The art of proper journalism is being lost. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  25. What’s weird is you & others continually moaning about the Government. Give it a rest, it’s a bloody difficult situation & most of the country seem to be behind them. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
