  1. Yeah, because complaining to ref reversed the Hand of God, & French goals didn't it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Lemina has been awful lately, doesn’t deserve a start Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. Bednarek wasn't . He replaced Stephens as the "promising youngster"in the squad. Stephens replaced Yoshida as the "first change" & Yoshida steps into the Fonte role. Wes replacing VvD. Gardos remains in the dead weight role. Whether they're able to step into those roles is beside the point. The point being that Fonte has been replaced, unless you really believe that we should carry 6 centre halves in the squad. Fonte wouldn't get in our side now. Yoshida would probably have replaced him in the pecking order by now anyway. Getting Wes in before selling VvD made absolute sense, the club would have been criticised had they done it the other way round Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Depends which Fonte you're talking about. Fonte as he is now or Fonte 18 months ago? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. The club are hardly likely to come out and say “ fans reaction contributed to our decision” are they? Particularly when the atmosphere is so toxic at the moment. **** me we’ve got “supporters” wanting us to lose as it is. Anyone who thinks that the fans reactions and ticket sales had nothing to do with the decision are deluded. I’ve never said, and I’m yet to read anyone who has said, it was entirely down to the fans. As for the players, instead of defending them people should look at their performances since the nasty man Puel left. How are the little darlings performing now they’re free from him? They actually had a fantastic opportunity to shove it up him when he returned with his new side. To show who was right and who was wrong, to show Les he made the right decision . I think we got the answer to that one. They gave a woeful cowardly performance. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. **** me, reading some on here you’d think that Theo only wanted to come to us but because of Les’ **** up/dithering/tightness/complacency was forced to take his second choice, Everton. As they showed with Koeman they can blow us out of the water when it comes to wages. There maybe a player somewhere out there that will be worth breaking our wage structure for, but it’s not Theo Walcott. I’m sure we’ve given him the best offer we can within our structure, if he can get more elsewhere , good luck to the bloke. But it’s not a stick you can beat Les Reed with. 7. Interesting thoughts on VvD from Stewart Robson, who in my opinion, is one of the very best pundits about. He says he’s watched a lot of VvD and although he’ll make them better, that’s more down to how poor their centre halves are. Reckons he doesn’t read the game and can’t anticipate danger, uses his physicality to recover from slight positional and anticipation errors, but at champions league level you aren’t able to do that. Says he looks good because he’s good in the air, pretty quick and brings the ball out well. However, unless he starts to read the game defensively will never be top top class. Said lack of anticipation will be exposed at Liverpool because of the way they play and they over paid big time for him. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. I can't work out who is more ****ing nuts. Balotelli or any of our fans who think there's any chance at all of him coming here. He's a right head the ball, but I think those supporters just shade it in the loony stakes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Don’t talk nonsense man, totally different situations. One was during the season, one was out of season. Keeping a manager until his replacement is lined up whilst the players are training and playing matches, makes sense as it minimises disruption. Keeping a manager when all the players are on holiday is totally pointless Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. My nephew is at AFC Bournemouth’s academy and they’re pretty good to him. Their philosophy that they drum into the parents is that being at the academy will make them better footballers, but not necessarily professional footballers. All the kids seem pretty grounded, but they’re the young intake, whether they change as they get older I don’t know. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  11. And me. **** all their titles, their world class players, the fantastic academy they have, the European champions league games, their brilliant manager, I wouldn't want that. Who in their right mind would want Saints to have a team and manager like they have at present. I couldn't think of anything worse than a Saints team in with a chance of going unbeaten in the league and being judged as one of the greatest club sides our games ever seen. **** me give me home grown players like Maya Yoshida, Steve Davis, Gabbi and Dusan Tadic over their foreign mercenaries any day. Imagine the embarrassment of being able to sign Liverpools top players instead of bending over and letting them **** us each season, like you I'd hate it. It'll be horrible discussing honours with Skates, I'd be embarrassed we'd won the league more than them. No way, id much prefer we stayed as we are. We've sold our soul, as has every team , just as much as city . Why would you prefer to be unsuccessful after selling it, than successful? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. What’s Bonnie’s take on it? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. Well the other bird Ebony doesn’t . Listening last night she called the gap between change of innings “half time”. Football or cricket, they sound like they’re nagging, not commentating Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. So where do you think the money from previous sales has gone? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  15. When I think of Walcott’s Arsenal career I’m always reminded of Shane Warnes analyst of Monty Panesar that “rather than having played 33 Tests, had merely played one, 33 times”. I’m not saying he’s not good enough for us, and god we certainly need a boost, but his game really hasn’t developed at all. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  16. Slightly off subject . Just watching “No hunger in paradise” on BT sport, all about youth development . Reed on, comes over quite well. Mike Calvin states in the voice over that “The Southampton way” is giving potential a chance. That we are developing intelligent, technical, skilful , well rounded players. As an aside, Arsene Wenger incredibly impressive and absolutely spot on with his comments about the development of English players. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. Poor today. The nipper up front for Forest looked a player. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  18. This is just ****ing nonsense. For one Pied & McQueen aren’t even in the “team” . How many starts have they made. If you’re going to list full backs, why not list the first choice, Bertrand & Cedric? They’re top 6 players, with full backs at that level the board need congratulating. Of course you have to name Pied & Mcqueen because listing our first choice pair undermines the pony you’re spouting . Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. It was earlier than that. I was at Anfield for his debut and people were moaning about him then. First ****ing game ffs Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  20. Agreed. They’ve ruined TMS as well. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. I want him to stay, because it'll mean we've picked up and had a decent Jan. I just get the impression that too many want him to fail to justify their opinions of him. Some of the vitriol is OTT. He's not a clown, an idiot, or clueless, he wasn't just plucked out of nowhere and given the job. He had a stellar playing career, a decent coaching grounding under Rafa and did a pretty good job in his previous role. Maybe he's wrong man, wrong place or not Premier league ready, but the lack of respect and hatred towards a honest and decent young manager is pretty poor form imo. At the moment I'm on the fence. Whether I want him out depends on who the replacement is. I'm defo not in the anybody but Pell camp. Of course when emotions are running high, I'd sack him. Which is why decisions need to be made with the emotion taken out of it. I'd like to know what the senior pros think, Davo & Yoshida, etc , like to know what his sessions are like, are they innovative and bright, what's he like with the nippers, does he put the hours in, is their a toxic feel to the dressing room that needs sorting. It's just to simplistic to call him useless or hopeless. There have been instances in the past where clubs and players needed sorting out, where managers take time to impose their will on a dysfunctional club. Is this one of those situations? Who knows, certainly not me. One thing is for sure, something wasn't quite right last year and something isn't right now. Only Les Reed knows whether that's a managerial issue or something far deeper. If he comes out of this, he'll learn a hell of a lot and become a better manager for it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. **** me, this place will really be in meltdown, if we beat Watford Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I thought we'd hit rock bottom in fan entailment last season, where 8th and a cup final is deemed not worthy of us. But no, now it's a 1-0 win in the cup after a tricky away tie. What on earths the matter with people. Any side in the premier league would have taken that today, any side. I get the feeling that deep down some are dissatisfied because we won. It's all about them being proved right and confirming the Managers a "clown ", rather than Saints progressing into the next round. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Spot on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Are you for real. I'll hazard a guess what the secret is. ££££££££ Atletico Madrid with all their European titles, dozen or so La Liga and cup wins, champions league finalists with a stadium of over 60k why can't we be like them. Or Dortmund, they're like us , reduce their 80k stadium to 32k, forget about their 8 Bundesliga titles and their European success, and they're exactly like us. Napoli, we should be like them. We're a bit nearer to them than the other 2. They've only won their league twice and cup 5 times and only have 20 odd k higher capacity. I must have been missing something all along. Why on earth aren't we like these champions league clubs and paying champions league wages. I'm sure there's players out there attracted by playing in front of 32k instead of playing for the clubs you mention. Hell, you're even showing a bit of Dell sized mentality. Why stop at Dortmund , why can't we learn from Bayern or Real Madrid, they manage to keep their players. That Ronaldo , everyone wants him, but do they sell? No, unlike us they manage to keep their players. Reed out Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
