Depends on what constitutes a "cut price deal". If we want £75 million & Liverpool are only prepared to pay £60 million, is it a "cut price deal" if City & Chelsea will only pay £50 million? Surely a players value is defined by the market, not by the selling club's valuation. Strikes me that taking the brightest & the best from other countries is a selfish sort of attitude, a Britain first sort of attitude. Personally I can't see beyond league position, seeing as that's how a season is judged. If we finish 2nd with more points than Leicester got for winning it, will you claim that's a better achievement? We were 8th best last season, end of. We won't get to a cup final & we won't finish higher than 9th, but people will still claim it was a better season than under Claude. Negatives : JWP will flatter to deceive, Charlie Austin will get injured. Personally, I think Gabbi may struggle for goals. Forster will be an average lump & Shane long will run around a lot and miss chance after chance. Positives: Better football, Stephens will be player of the season. Davo will be consistent & play week in week out, OR will be even better than last season, he'll create more. I've got a gut feeling that Matt Targett will do well & Tadic will be more consistent.
