He was injured. However, I was told by a decent source that the medical team were "surprised" he hadn't recovered for the last 3 or 4 games of the season. Of course it was shot down when I posted that weeks ago, but it makes sense to me. 3 games out,nothing to play for & thinking Liverpool was a done deal, why risk that by playing?
