Jose is clearly Puels man to play with VvD, but Puel obviously believes he can't play 2 games a week and remain as effective as he is. He's decided to take the entirely sensible approach to play Yoshida in the Europa league instead. We should be able to beat the Israelis without him on Thursday, and if we do it's very much "job done". Out of the group stages, in a semi final and Jose Fonte still fit to play. I really don't see what people's issue is. Once we get into the knock out stages Puel may decide to play our strongest side and if he does, Jose will play. The bloke is still a good player, who forms a good partnership with VvD. Yes, he may have tipped slightly over the hill, but he's still an assest to the side . It's no coincidence Lovren, Toby and VvD settled so well at the club. Saying that, he's been a little bit out of order questioning Puels Europa league policy. I could understand his frustration if we were getting near to the final, but he must know the score and what Puel is trying to do. As captain, maybe he should have kept quiet over this. As for selling him . It's very much a heart/head thing for me. My head says sell in Jan if we get a decent offer, but my heart would love to see him finish his career here. He is after all " last man standing" from league 1 .

I wonder what the Remain campaign said about a second vote, or parliament having a say.
-
According to the Liberal Undemocrats and others the single market was never discussed during the campaign. People didn't know they were voting to come out.
-
Not necessarily. Depends on what wages he's on.
-
Oh for ****s sake . Give it up. He was a complete & utter waste of money.
-
**** me, the simplest question ever put to the British people and the remoaners still try to claim it wasn't clear. Personally , im not against another vote . I'm all for a referendum on the terms of the deal May can secure outside of the EU. The British people should be given a choice . Mays deal outside the EU or WTO rules outside the EU. If May loses the vote then a GE should be called. Each party can then try and secure a mandate for their option. Liberal Undemocrats can campaign on rejoining the EU , labour on their vision of life outside the EU , UKIP & the Tories on theirs.
-
Norbert Hofer maybe a populist right winger , but he could teach Clegg, Major , Soubry and the rest of the remoaners something about democracy. After his defeat he stated " the voters are always right".
-
What will the € to £ ratio be tomorrow? Looking forward to discusing with the remoaners tomorrow

Oliver having a nightmare, Rojo should be off and how Barry's not in the book is beyond me. Yellow tackle then deliberately breaking up attack with a hand ball

Provided we get a result Thursday, it's still been a decent run . Beating Koeman , semi final & out our Europa league group. -
Lol, lol lol Turned off at 2-0 and went to watch my local under 18's as I didn't want to watch sky's Liverpool love fest . Just got in , lol
-
He's just cost Boscombe a goal . Rushing out of his area like a headless chicken
-
And by Dave Warson , successive England managers and pundits? I suggest that if we put him up for sale there will be plenty of takers , but hey what do they know compared to you .
-
The second goal OR didn't follow his runner , but I guess being a forum hero we'll have to blame the keeper
-
He's better than JRod .

Pony . Our keeper cost us the game . Simple as that . That first goal changed the whole game .Our players were every bit as committed as theirs -
Arsenal 0-2 Saints - Reaction & Semi Final Draw

The FA won't give a shiny shiete . It's a football league competition -
Klopp more likely to play weakened side than Jose , who has always taken this competition seriously. With a bit of luck & their mind on other things , we may have half a chance. We're going to have to beat Arsenal,Liverpool & Utd to win it.
-
Surely Liverpool will be better for your trolling

I love reading the comments underneath, this one was great . "One man understood how to entertain and utilise the Fratton faithful perfectly.....Harry Redknapp. Surely it's worth somebody from the board having the conversation with him...you might be surprised with the response "
-
Complete tosh . He has been woeful in some games and average in most. Yesterday was the only time he's looked like a half decent player, but he didn't " dictate the game " in any way shape or form.Perhaps we should wait until he plays a dozen or so games like that in a row before lording him . On Thursday he looked out of his depth so it was good to see him play ok, but I think you're jumping the gun a bit

Must be pretty disheartening for the guys who went and had to watch that shiete so I'm not surprised there was booing. Does it do any good though, the ones it upsets will be the ones that care and I doubt they're the ones being booed. From watching at home (and I realise it is different) it didn't appear to be a lack of effort, but a lack of skill and ability. Is there really any point in booing Cucu, yes he's shiete , but he doesn't pick himself and as bad as he is, that is his best. Same with JRod , he must be close to despair about how he's playing , is booing going to help him? I don't honestly know what the answer is,because as much as I hate booing your own, would have probably done the same had I spent 1k watching that shiete .I guess a win against Koeman will go some way to paying those who went yesterday back, and win at Arsenal and all will be forgiven

Europa League 2016/2017 (Died 8/12/2016)
Lord Duckhunter replied to ScepticalStan's topic in The Saints
Austin has to start in the final Europa league game , even if it means leaving him out of league games. Other than that, we should have enough to get through. -
Do you really think Charlie Austin would still be fit if he played in every game. Would Jose , having not really had a proper break in the summer . Or Cedric . Would Bertrand have stayed fit? It's not like we've even been knocked out yet, we're still favourite to go through. Thank god we have professional sports science people and not you with your magic sponge looking after our players through a 50 odd game season .
-
So "it's not working" all this tinkering? We're in the league cup 1/4 final. We're one home win away from getting out of the Europa league group, and we are mid table . For Man Utd or Arsenal that might be "not working" , but I suggest it is for us. Seriously, what do people want . This isn't the 1970's or 80's when you play your best side each and every game. If we did, chances are Charlie Austin & Fonte, would be facing long lay offs.Steve Davis would be knackered, Cedric would be picking up niggles left right and centre and Bertrand wouldn't have got over his problem . All this with a stupid number of games coming up in Dec. He's not tinkering for the sake of it, he's tinkering to get us through 50odd games this season being as fresh as we can.
