  1. Strange that Nicola never leaked this then. He knew her dastardly plan, but it didn't appear in the Mail?
  2. Good luck to the lad, wonderful end to his career ,World cup in Brazil then a dream move to his boyhood club. Will remain a saints legend and should get a fantastic reception each and every time he returns. I'm not getting my knickers in a twist over the fee. What the guys done for the club if we've had to drop a bit to make it happen for him, then that's OK for me. With testimonials seemingly a thing of the past , I don't mind if our thank you to Rickie is ensuring this deal went through . Its what he deserves for fantastic service to the club. The saddest part of all this for me is the breaking up of the league 1 players. Its quite likely that José and kelvin will be the only 2 left come august.
  3. Robin day will be turning in his grave. Anyone who doesn't think the BBC is dumbing down should watch that rubbish from last . Needs a radical overhaul, get Wiggy Neil to present, get serious people on the programme and no audience participation except the asking of the questions. I'm not ****ing interested in their points.
  4. £9 mil fee agreed
  5. Can't believe he fits Liverpool's money ball type buying strategy .
  6. I hope we're not turning into west ham or spurs fans , always banging on about "the Southampton way". I was quite happy the way Nigel wanted to play the game, wouldn't be that bothered if we gave up the high press. Bit more width further up the pitch and maybe Rickie may get a new lease of life. Provided its not route one, there's different ways to play attacking football that is pleasing on the eye.
  7. Its bound to be first game of the season, so "sacked in the morning " will be quite funny. Especially with levys track record. Professionals aren't really that bothered about boos, unless its like the abuse redknapp got when we played at Skatemouth. The people who are bothered are fans. If we start booing and getting our knickers in a twist, the spurs lot will just take the Mick. Personally, I think a funny song to show we don't care and we're better off without him or show our indifference. We should show solid support for the new guy in front of them, even if he's a bit of a chump. It should be a case of, "Poch, who".
  8. My oldest lad met him and said he was really charismatic and friendly. Let's how how he gets on at Sunderland , players seem to like him.
  9. Why with all that "good progress" were we slipping down the internationally recognised league tables? I'm not saying Gove is right or wrong, but if you think that our education was making good progress previously you are either deluded or a vested interest. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/education/education-news/going-backwards-uk-literacy-and-numeracy-standards-slip-down-international-rankings-8979588.html
  10. There's nobody that really jumps out at me, but then there hasn't been anyone whose really excited me since Bally came back. I don't know enough about some of the names on here to comment, but I do think trying to find another in the Poch mould is the wrong approach. Different time, different skill set needed. There's going to be real upheaval this summer and we need somebody who can cope with that and steady the ship. That's why dismissing Moyes is ridiculous. He wouldn't be first choice, but if you want a steady hand he's got to be considered. I don't know why people are dismissing Gus either, he's a players ,manager and his side play good stuff. People I know who have met him say he's very charismatic, although he maybe a bit too volatile for the present situation. Not popular and I understand why, but I feel Glenda has unfinished business in English football. He was a great tactician, and his work with his acedemy does show he wants to bring on youngsters. If he's learnt the art of humilty , I wouldn't rule him out. Laudrap, would be popular with players and short term this is maybe what we need. Just be walking in the changing room he'll inspire respect, although I'd worry about his leaving of Swansea. If we are going for a rookie, I'd love Gary Neville. If he bought in somebody alongside him, maybe phelan or meulensteen. Even maybe Jamie carraghar would be a good rookie, but do we want another manager who needs an interpreter again? Overall my main concern is avoiding meltdown and although not popular on here the one man who will ensure that doesn't happen is Moyes. There reluctantly, if you held a gun to my head and made me choose, that'll be my choice. Tomorrow I'll hopefully have a change of heart.
  11. I bet the Leeds supporters wished somebody had turned the tap off for Risdale.
  12. Fantastic? Its horse pony if you ask me. What were the board expected to do? They offered him a contract and he refused to sign it. He wanted to leave, end of. There wasn't all this sheite when hoddle did one, yet Lowe was ssupposedly an able operator. FFS , we're not talking about venkys here, or Mike Ashley or even Vincent Tam. Apart from a few rich billionaires like bill gates, who on earth do people want running our club, Daniel Levy?
  13. If we have a fan on the board, I suggest Alpine. He knows so much about what's going on, what people's ambitions are ( and even were , if they're dead) what they're thinking and their motives. He really would be worth his weight in gold.
  14. They'd look pretty stupid if the new guy came in and didn't fancy cork as a player and they'd given him a 3 year deal a week earlier. Maybe Poch didn't want cork and was looking to move him on. Who knows, certainly not you. Why is it so hard for you to consider that these people know what they're doing?
  15. Adam and Shaw are champions league players, can't see therm going to spurs no matter how much they love Poch.
  16. Damage limitation needs to be 3 fold. Short term ( next 2 weeks), let it be known no players are leaving until a manager is in place and the world cup is finished. Medium term (world cup-end of July) get a high profile man in, somebody who will genuinely enthuse the place and has charisma. Even if its a one season wonder like laudrap, poyat, slaven Bilic ect , just somebody who players will bond with. Long term( pre season-start). Loss of 2 players, but to champions league clubs Or man utd. If we start losing players to the spurs of the world, we are sending out a message. I really think every player angling for a move should be told " you are not going to spurs, end of". Really really dangerous if Poch starts unsettling the jrods and clynes and those just below adam and Shaw.
  17. The board haven't done anything wrong. Poch's agent has been hawking him around for months. Funny how the Poch to Monaco , PSG or whoever suddenly stopped once it became obvious that Sherwood was toast. This has been a done deal for weeks imo. Now the judgement of the board will be made. I hope they've got a plan B, please dont tell me they haven't discussed options, sounded people out and worked out a plan. Because if they haven't, then that is a legitimate gripe people can have. Any appearence of flondering around will be worrying. Reed in particular, should have a short list and have made "unofficial" contact with the candidates or their people . "If Poch goes, would the job interest you", he should have been asking one or two. Lets hope they've now gone back to the ones that tipped him the nod and start some serious talks. If they're sat around tomorrow starting from scratch it will be pretty clueless.
  18. ****ing scandalous, £30 million sent abroad to foreign brats and despite "Call me Dave" saying its wrong, there's not a damn thing we can do about it. Labour banging on about pensioners having to choose between heating or eating, perhaps that £30mil could top up our pensioners income. Pensioners who in some cases fought so that these eu kids receiving child benefit didn't grow up under the Nazi jackboot.
  19. British jobs for British workers.
  20. Why haven't the board issued a statement about Yakin yet. ****ing clowns don't know what they're doing.Ralph needs to call up Durham and comment on it, like Nicola used to. That's it....... I've had it with these clowns.
  21. Perhaps his contract has a realise clause. The papers are reporting there's a £2mil compensation clause, which people were hailing Nicola for inserting. The other scenario that nobody seems to have taken into account is that he agreed to stay on when Nicola went provided he could pursue other options at the end of the season. At the end of the day there's not a lot the board can do if a manager wants to go, not that that stops people moaning about the board.
  22. Still got the highest number of votes cast. I wonder what proportion of the Nottingham population voted for that chump. Clarke's been wrong about Europe time and time again, its arrogant twts like him that drive people towards ukip.
  23. With that ex man utd Dutch bloke who was at Fulham for 5 mins. He is evidently a fantastic coach who improves young players.
  24. AHH, I've nearly thrown up my breakfast. Listening to the Today programme and up popped that Tory Buffoon Ken Clarke. The blokes in complete denial about the EU and people's thoughts on it. Didn't think it could get any worse, then up pops Tony ****ing Blair, giving us his wisdom on the EU. I just wish those 2 clowns would go canvassing together in Newark, cause we'll defo have a ukip mp then.
  25. People need to calm down, anyone would think poch was the second coming of cloughie the way people are going on. He had 18 pretty good months, mainly with players he inherited. We can't really comment on his signings because we don't know if they're his, or a committee. Let's give him the benefit of the of the doubt and say lovren great signing, victor good, Osvaldo a ****ing disaster. Contrast that with Adkins signings , Jrod, Clyne , yoshida and gaston, not much difference really. I remember another bloke who came in half way through the season, turned us around and then the following year had us playing some great stuff. We finished 10th I seem to recall, before he left for a "bigger" club. How did Ballys managerial go after that? Truth of the matter is nobody knows how good Poch is, he could have been the right bloke at their right time. Nigel had tightened us up, did have us playing some good stuff. He had fox and jos, not Shaw and lovren. As the team evolves you start to see how good a manager is. How good will Martinez be when he has to replace Moyes back 4, Wenger has certainly not hit the previous heights since George Grahams famous defence hung up their boots. One season could be flash in the pan ( I said could), Steve Clarke will tell you that. Unfortunately, it looks like we'll never know. But I wish some of our supporters would stop acting like love sick teenagers? A bloke who has been at the club 5 mins has fucvked off and doesn't want to manage us.
