Carl Radle & Jim Keltner were two of Tulsa's finest from that era as well. I was reading Bobby Keys' autobiography ( a great read for old farts) and he had a whole section about how talented the guys from Tulsa were.

Spot on, the man was cool , as Tony Parsons said today his motto was "slower baby". As much as I admire Eric Clapton and The Stones Ect , American music has the authenticity, it is the real deal. Clapton's version of "After Midnight" although good, just doesn't quite cut it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2IZ9feKpJkk

We lost one of the most under rated musicians and songwriters at the weekend RIP JJ Cale.

I just spoke to a women in the ticket office, I was questioning that none of my away games were showing on my transaction history. She said that they had a record their end, not convinced I asked her which games I had been to and she said 8 (which was correct). She assured me that their system was robust it was just that we couldn't see it our end. I wasn't convinced, but I guess I'll see on wedsnesday.

I'm from Southampton, but the old mans work took us away when I was a school kid. Never moved back, but luckily the old man used to bring me back to the dell . Have 4 children who are all Saints supporting despite never having lived there. They get a bit of stick from some of the locals as to why they don't support Bournemouth, but who cares. I once took my birth certificate into work to prove I supported my home city, as some of these locals can be real Muppets. I guess its because there's so many man U, Chelsea and Liverpool supporters walking round Poole.

Adam Lallana - has he flattered to deceive?
Lord Duckhunter replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
He's an average premier league player and would do a job for us, Norwich, Fulham, Sunderland ECT. He's not going to get into a top 6/7 premiership side, but could get into any other squad. I find him frustrating, goes over way too easy, poor delivery and poor at offering full back cover, but can show glimpses of great ability. His lack of pace means that at this level he's not going to have the impact he did in other leagues. All in all , I've seen a lot worse play in the premiership and it would be fantastic if he stayed a one club man. So although he's not quite top quality, he's certainly a decent option and seems a decent lad. -

The Times reporting today that the Governments help to buy scheme will have to be open to EU migrants because of EU laws.
-
Is that what we base our democracy on, cost? What if Roman Abramovich or Bill Gates paid billions into the treasury , shall we make them king? Lets sell it to the highest bidder as opposed to killing and maiming to decide which family "rule" over us.
-
Great , another scrounging family having a baby and expecting the tax payer to fund it.

The same arguments for staying in the EU were used by the Pro Euro people and "big business" (including the Japanese).

We should always listen to Japan , particularly the car industry. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/business/nissan-urges-britain-to-join-the-euro-1115176.html

I think he flatters to deceive and personally I don't think we'll see the best of him. He gives the ball away too much, I just don't buy the" its the position/way he plays arguement, he still has a duty to protect the ball and not give it away in stupid positions. He gives it away , when there's really no need not when he trying something amazing that doesn't quite come off. His dead ball delivery is criminal, if fox's were the same he would get even more clogg. Personally, he looks to me that he doesn't want to be here. If offered our money back id snap their hands off. One thing for sure, there won't be a premiership club in for him. He may go back and do well in Italy, that doesn't mean it was wrong to sell him, we play In England and my opinion is he won't cut it in England. Hope im wrong.

Oh, so there wasn't a double dip recession, but because of your political leanings we have to accept there was one. I wish I knew how to do that face palm thingy.

What double dip?

Been twice, beautiful island with lovely people. Would go again but prefer to fly out of Bournemouth so haven't done so lately. I thought kardamena was a dump to be honest with you. If you're going on the lash there's loads better. For a middle aged bloke with a family the island is great.

Labour trying to distance itself from the unions
Lord Duckhunter replied to Wade Garrett's topic in The Lounge
Twigg won Enfield Southgate from MP, not Basildon. To me that's the issue, you hold him up as an example of some sort of clean selection. But he was born and bred in Southgate, won the seat , but as soon as he lost it got parachuted into a safe Labour seat. Surely the better thing was for someone from West Derby should have got the seat, rather than a career politician who had been kicked out of his own manor. And I know all parties do it, but it's wrong IMO. Twigg is the worst type of career politician. -
For anyone interested, this was the outcome. Sent the nip with the wrong time on back with "car not on road". Received a letter back saying nip issued in error , error does not invalidate offense and enclosed amended nip with correct time on. Crucially, this was after 14 days had elapsed . Sent nip back with my details as driver on, but pointed out that the nip was "timed out" and invalid and did not fill in the bit which offers you a deal or court. About a month later received another nip, with letter saying I needed to complete correctly . Sent a letter back saying that I refuse all offers , and will not enter into any further correspondence with them. I was told by someone to write " I will defend myself in court and if found not guilty will seek redress for a malicious prosecution . " Heard nothing for ages, then received a letter saying " no further action". Pretty pleased to have got away with it and saved myself points and money. I spoke to a copper about it and he surprised me by taking my side. He said that they have a duty to get all the paperwork 100% correct and its right that guilty people get off if they dont.

Summer 2013 HCDAJFU / Transfer thread
Lord Duckhunter replied to Glasgow_Saint's topic in The Saints
I heard it slightly different , I thought the bloke said that Chelsea wouldn't let Bertrand go to Liverpool because they needed back up for Ashley Cole. Said that they were interested in Shaw as that back up (freeing up Bertrand) but because Shaw signed contract Chelsea missed out and won't let Bertrand move. I maybe wrong as id had a lunch time session, but that is what I thought I heard. Maybe the bloke is credible. -
Labour trying to distance itself from the unions
Lord Duckhunter replied to Wade Garrett's topic in The Lounge
There's only one thing worse than the unions bankrolling labour and business bankrolling the Tories ,and that's us mug taxpayers bankrolling the whole lot of them. -
So are you trying to say that the RM pension is fully funded for the future, that the tax payer will never have to contribute towards RM pensions ever again?
-
Public opinion in the form of Ukip taking votes has forced Cameron to promise a vote on Europe. Public opinion in the form of Ukip topping the EU vote next year, and polling data will ensure labour include some sort of promise in their election manifesto. Public opinion is driving the establishments moves in a way opinion on hanging ECT never could.
-
Are you still peddling this nonsense? It is entirely reasonable to be a member of the Tory party and want to leave the EU, just as Tony benn wants to leave but remains a labour man through and through. You really need to think before you post' your hatred of the tory right is clouding your judgement and making you look like a fool. Kate hoey has as much right to be in the labour party as red ed. What about mark serwotka, should he leave the party?
-
I think most sensible people from the left and right understand that the EU crosses party divides. Yes, the majority of anti's tend to lean to the right, but there are many from the left including some union bosses and the leftie hero Benn, who want to withdraw. Like the referendum in the 70's I'm sure people from the same parties will be campaigning on opposite sides. I just find the arguement put forward by our resident Tory basher that Bill Cash and "his ilk" leave the Tory party and join Ukip, as well as stating that "any anti European in the labour party should defect to Ukip" laughable.
-
What a load of pony. Don't forget it was only 4 prime ministers ago that withdrawal from Europe was offical labour policy, good job they didn't follow your doctrine and chuck out all the pro Europeans. The arguement that Tony Benn should join Ukip is laughable and clueless. Have you just got in from the pub?
